What great looking locos....I can remember seeing D6700 and D6702, stabled at Stratford works prior to main line running. They were brand new in their all green livery. We used to go to the school boy football at Wembley just because we knew that the route took us through Stratford works, and via North Acton sheds....great days remembered.

I'll bet there are some country locations where people could hear the roar in the distance and be able to get to the station from home in time to catch it.

Classy video recording of these classic machines. I love that the driver tootled out of Yarmouth then opened up right on cue. Top driver. Also I really liked the ending to this video, 37's of into the sunset. Brilliant, well done fellas. 👍🏼

Not just a great video but also includes the important details of where and when and the TOPS IDs, owners and operators. This is what makes for a proper and useful historical record.

An interesting, beautifully-filmed and very poignant reminder of the last few years of Class 37 thrash. Also a good record of the Wherry Lines' old-style signalling and crossings before they are swept away by the tide of progress. The Yare Valley will never be the same again. Thanks for your brilliant work producing this great video.

Absolutely the best video of these short sets I've seen! I know the line and places well, so it'll be sad not to be able to see then or window hang behind them any more... I feel like I should release my last ever video of them now - back in April.

Well, I just don't know what to say anymore!!!!! This is a fantastic video, expertly compiled, with titled information at every location. Talking of locations, they were very well chosen in this video, which makes viewing that much more enjoyable. A truly remarkable record....set on video...of these short sets. I take my hat off to the pair of you...well done Paul (Dad), for taking time to spend with your Son, and showing the same interest, and well done Cameron (Son) for making a superb job of the editing. I cannot think of any other father & son who have this bond....it is invaluable.

It was really sad to see it. We filmed all week, from various locations including from inside the coaches, the Norwich to Lowestoft run had been cancelled for the previous 4 days, we tried one last time last Friday to get them which luckily paid off. Wonderful diesel locomotives that will be very sadly missed.

3,500 HP seems a tad excessive for 2 - 3 coaches! 17:34 - as a boy on holiday on the Norfolk Broads in the late 60's and early 70's I used to stand on that very spot and watch the trains crossing Reedham Swing Bridge - such memories!

Interesting to see this. I had heard of these short sets but being new to the area never managed to see them. I’d be interested to know how the rear loco was controlled as both seem to be in power. 3500 hp does seem to be a lot of power for just three coaches. Earlier in the year I was walking my dog at Burgh Castle and I saw passing Barney Arms what was the inspection saloon and coaches with a 37 on the rear.I assume these diesels are still about in the area.

So what becomes of the 37's now? I'm guessing the "Large Logo" 37 returns to its owners (preservation, I'm guessing), but will the coaches find other work? It'd be nice to see another loco-hauled job running regularly somewhere nearer to one of the major cities, making it a bit easier for non-Brits such as myself to find.

Very enjoyable video, thanks. One wonders about the economics of employing two 37s and 2 carriages, but it makes a rare and pleasing display of these wonderful old workhorses. I had a Hornby model as a teen and I'm now nearly 65! I doubt the Swiss built 755s will be anything as interesting, although having seen them, they're a little less 'bland' than so many of the new generation multiple units.
@GWR-fd1up

You would think so but having two engines means 1: no fuel and time wasted running round at the end and 2: the train gets up to speed much quicker therefore can shut off more quickly so shouldn't use any more fuel. More emissions yes, but for less time.

These are magnificent locomotives! Sad to see that environmental concerns and upgrading to more efficient motive power mean that some will never get a chance to ride on carriages pulled by these locomotives! That's the price of progress I guess! It's a vicious cycle people who travel regularly should take every opportunity to get footage of these units while they are still in service! You never know when you might see the last of them!
