Ah I was hoping to see Yoshi go by himself, like him riding another Yoshi I think just looks wrong, and i thought it would be more interesting looking if he runs on his own two green legs and feet.

I like how each of the NPC is suppose to be someone close to the character used: Mario: the 3 girls that at least interacted once in a main series game Luigi: Daisy, the obvious gf, Boo from Luigi mansion and Toad Peach: The bowser family and Mario. Daisy: Same as Luigi’s but with Toadette and Goodman (prob a relation to Sarasaland) Wario: All Charles Martinet characters Waluigi: Wario, Daisy and… Ninji? Okay, makes somewhat of a sense Yoshi: Mario, makes sense, Birdo, in a way, a counterpart of Yoshi. But Jr… idk. Rosalina: Mario Peach and Bowser. I’m sure they’re in both Galaxy games DK: Mario and Pauline, both in the Jumpman arcade game and toad… idk Jr: Goomba, Monty and Spike, all minions of Bowser

Daisy and Toadette are likely close friends just like how they were depicted in Wonder. Toad in DK’s minigame is a reference to the Toads' appearance in Mario vs. Donkey Kong. Bowser Jr. resembles Baby Bowser in Yoshi games.

Because it's supposed to be the same Yoshi we play as, so the grey clone was made (rather than getting a different Yoshi)
