It's called Main Cannon #2 in all versions, and has kept the name since for the Kirby series. It's just that the Super Smash Bros. series is inconsistent when it comes to renaming. Another example is the track Gourmet Go Go still being called Gourmet Race even in games released after Kirby: Triple Deluxe.

If the backup main cannon of the Halberd is a freaking Wave-Motion Gun (it’s referred to as Main Cannon #2), I’d not want to know what the main spinal cannon is capable of. EDIT: In the anime it’s even worse, that version is LOADED with Wave-Motion Guns.
