DARK KIRBY PLANET ROBOBOT LORE TIME (Apparently, dark Kirby lore is actually present in both planet robobot and triple deluxe) So, apparently President Haltmann actually had a daughter, Susanna, in the past, but do to some incident causing her to be sent to another dimension, he figured she had died, so he started planning on awakening the star dream. Years afterwards, after constant use from the star dream controlling helmet, it began corrupting his memories. After all of this, Susie starts working for him, but at this point, Haltmann couldn’t remember his daughter, Susanna, but could remember how she looked, and, get this, thought Susie looked familiar, but couldn’t actually remember if he knew her, which implies that Susie and Susanna are the same person. Now this is just depressing.

I always kinda picture that if there were to ever be a continuation of the Kirby anime, Susie would have a different arc than from the game. Instead of being a villain whose trying to upstage her superior, she would instead be introduced as an ally who asks Kirby for help to save her father from his delusions of grandeur. But when Haltmann gets killed by his own machines, whether it's Star Dream or otherwise, Susie started getting vengeful with Kirby and becomes an enemy of him since then, and Kirby would continue to feel guilty about it whenever Susie ever appears again. The anime isn't afraid to make Kirby go through some emotional turmoils, so this kind of arc is somewhat plausible.

Maybe not a continuation, but a reboot with storylines based on the games (like Sonic X, but without the anime-only characters). That way, Dedede is more of an occasional ally like in the games instead of a villain. Antagonists like Sectonia and Haltmann survive their encounters with Kirby (Sectonia being imprisoned in the Dimension Mirror until someone finds a way to revert her back to her old self (think of it like Mr. Freeze trying to cure his wife), and Haltmann being saved before he was permanently assimilated into Star Dream (like in the manga adaptation)). To make it dark, the series would focus more on the psychological trauma some of the characters have (Taranza suffering guilt-induced depression from turning the love of his life into a monster to the point he considers taking his own life; and Susie still having PTSD from being sent to another dimension as a child, occasionally having nightmares about it and freezing up whenever she deals with anything interdimensional). Of course, there’s still a lot of hilarious elements that balance out the dark ones, so Susie will still have her comedic moments. Running gags would include her being an attention hog and cocky inventor (like Tony Stark) and her obsession with Meta Knight. I can already imagine a breather episode in which she builds a giant parade float of herself (that doubles as a fully functioning mecha) for a contest and would’ve won if she hadn’t been disqualified on a technicality (she forgot to register her float).

Can we talk about how Dedede lucked out immensely in dealing with this mad scientist horror villain disguised as a robot waifu? Meta Knight is experimented on, modified to the point of being barely recognizable, lost any sense of control, and might still be conscious, seeing as apparently he knows to RUN when he sees Susie in later games. Dedede meanwhile just gets a prick from a finger, or a syringe to the arm, and he's probably safe and asleep somewhere.
