What am I missing,, there is a DB9 port (which can be wired for amp relay) and what looks like an SMA TX connection for I assume the pre-distortion output on the 20W model, but not the 100W.

The sma ports on the 20w version are not even connected to anything, On the 100w version they have a JTAG port on the side for driving amp, but no documentation of what the pins do

No port for external display. Not sure it will do diversity but need to try that at some point

Mike it seems a very nice radio but my concern is the very high S-meter reading (+9) while you just receiving static and no real signal from a station. It looks like the rx stage is overloaded. My radios are quiet and show rx around S1-S3 not more. Any thoughts? Phil ON4VP

Yes, you can do that. I have not but have seen others in the Wolf Facebook group do that

Hi Mike I just ordered The Wolf 998 like you did and I should get by 2-13 Where can I download a manual and get that 10 pin connector? I own a icom 7610 a 7600 a 7300 and 2 7000 and i have all of them linked to my stppir sda 2000 controller antenna system It would be great if I was able to do it with the 998. Can you please post a video with the 3d screen option please? Also, I read is hf and vhf , so no UHF right? I have a 705 but maaan, that one have me thinking, I may sell the 705 becaus I really appreciate that huge screen and the 100 watts

It can receive VHF and UHF but no transmit on those bands. There was some mistakes on some of the ads for this radio. Most vendors have started correcting their ads but not all

ohhh, look at that, I read on an ebay ad that was able to transmit VHF but not UHF, aghh, I was hoping to convince myself that was an upgrade to my 705 having the same bands plus antenna tuner and 100 watts, now im here thinking about it. Of course in the perfect world will be to have both but I have to pick one. Dang it, that screen!!! ahh@@N4GW

@@angelscomputers I know, I dont use VHF or UHF so it did not bother me, but if you wanted that, it could be a deal breaker. the 20w version had VHF

@@N4GW I really dont use VHF/UHF as right now but I love to have "shack in the box" radios for SHTF situations where I need the most available frequencies at my disposal plus I always been wanting to try VHF SSB. Actually, Ive never seen anywhere the exact Transmit frequencies coverage in that radio, I want to know if it transmit in 27mhz like my 705 after been mars moded.

That sounds right for the 20w. You can use the VXCO parameter to adjust it but you will have to experiment with the adjustment to get it right
