What kind of manifold do you have and are you running a bef with that jb4?

How did you like the GTX3582 R Gen 2? I am installing it currently with a Speedtech kit and full e85.

What’s the bov setup?

hey what phone mount are you using?? yours seems to be holding up good lol, mine always falls off :(
@matthewnassiri3 жыл бұрын
That one snapped in the end 🤣. I changed it for a Brodit Proclip, buy the plate that goes over the centre vent and then a phone holder to suit your phone. I got the adjustable holder for mine and its been perfect. Phone has stayed put ever since

How did you get it to flutter? I've tried blocking off the bov like I normally would on an rb25 and still no flutter.

Need a pod filter / dose pipe

@@Mandem443 I haven't blocked anything off. I'm running an external wastegate. I just found the point in the rev range when it flutters 😅

How have you made it sound that nice is that on standard turbos?
@matthewnassiri5 жыл бұрын
Definitely not on standard turbos 😅, it's had a big single turbo conversion. Check out my insta and you will see what's done to it "autogrphy"

Single turbo on rhd? How? Mine is a rhd too
@matthewnassiri4 жыл бұрын
There's 4 of us that I know of in the UK now. Check out Walton Motorsport, they do a single turbo manifold.

How's reliability been?
@rampage33374 жыл бұрын
the reliablity of the n54 is good. there are a few things the n54 has that can go wrong but it's mostly shit that any car whould brake or it is caused by bad maintenance. it's like the e46 people think hurr durr coolant leaks headgasket leaks. but 99,99% of the time it's bad maintenance or a super high milage old car that whould need replaceing anyway becaus of the age. bmws bad reliability is mostly just a meme becaus so many ''poor people'' buy in to them and then try to run them like a civic. these cars are in the category luxury cars/luxury sports cars. they have tecnologoy in them that makes them scensitive to certain stuff. thats why they have the more expensive parts and fluids. you need to run proper coolant proper oil or you will destroy your bmw. do the maintenance and pay the extra 20-50$ and you will have a strong car that can handle allot of power. n54 is good for more HP on stock internals than the 2jz
@matthewnassiri3 жыл бұрын
@@rampage3337 not true at all regarding internals. I had 2 Ringland failures and I know of several others that have had similar failures now. 550whp is the safe limit of the N54. 600whp is when failures start to occur. Starting to see it more and more now. 600whp+ definitely want forged pistons. Some people have been lucky but they will let go. FYI I change my oil roughly every 2000 miles with miller's and Mann filter. Spark plugs are also regularly changed. I'm very anal with maintenance. Other than Ringland failure the car has been reliable. I rebuilt the bottom end with proper forged con rods (factory are powder forged....) and JE forged pistons.

@@matthewnassiri that just made me really nervous lol, aiming for 600whp, doing it all, ST, PI kit etc. Was thinking 17t but then I just went for Single Turbo
@matthewnassiri3 жыл бұрын
@@Zalle335 single is definitely the right move. You're engine might be OK and hold. I'm only stating that 600whp seems to be where a lot of ring lands are failing now. I personally know of 2 other guys that had it and have read a fair few now. But it can be down to several reasons, leaky injectors, running charge pipe meth etc etc. I'd definitely be doing very very regular oil changes, I was doing 2-3 oil changes a year and only covering 3-4k miles but would always change at 2k minimum. I'd definitely have a compression test done. Also if you do your pan gasket check your rod bearings. Seen quiet a few scored up ones now. Good luck with the build!
@Zalle3353 жыл бұрын
@@matthewnassiri Yeah going to change oil often, last owner which is my buddy changed oil pan gasket, ohfg and oil cooler gasket, I have a valve cover gasket laying around but haven't seen it leaking. Also thinking of doing a compressiton test. Going to run full E85 with PI and no meth.
