Wuuuut. F-Zero X totally holds up. 60fps racing vs 30 opponents, buttery smooth, clean flat-shaded graphics. Play the modded ROM with the DD expansion, there's a random cup that generates new tracks each play (infinite replayability), and a track editor. These also hold up: Sin & Punishment...criminal this wasn't released until the Wii virtual console came out Wave Race 64...those water physics still haven't been bettered Star Fox 64...still the best Star Fox Snowboard Kids 1/2...lovely alternative kart-style racers, super clean graphics, great music Ocarina of Time & Majora's Mask (no arguments) The AKI wrestling games (no mercy...)...still great NFL Blitz 2000...yes!

Paper Mario is another game that really aged well graphically with the 2.5D style and great art direction in general. The gameplay is pretty solid, too.

The original Harvest Moon for SNES had both time and stamina systems. However, time froze at midnight and you could endlessly refill your stamina by jumping in and out of the hot springs on the mountain, so neither mattered much.

Well, the only limit being that you couldn't ship anything after nightfall, but yeah, you could get a lot done each day aside from that. Even better if you try and marry Karen since she's at the bar at night and will happily accept infinite flowers from the mountains all in a single night. Almost like a Greek myth at that point.

the problem with N64 was that the games were really blurry and low res. If it was just sharp 480p I don't think the ages would look anywhere near as bad.

Honestly there are a whole lot of N64 games that hold up today. Perfect Dark for example is just as brilliant today as it was when it released. It holds up well vs modern FPS games in my opinion. Definitely with the fan made PC port, and aim assist turned off, it's a far more fun time. I think the multiplayer is still the most dynamic that has ever existed for a FPS, with everything from weapon spawn locations, gamemodes, difficulty sliders, AI Bots that can be customized and personalized as well, as well as your own customizable character, and stats being tracked in the game. Perfect Dark was literally a decade ahead of it's time.

among games i had in my own collection that i'd say hold up well would be WWF: No Mercy (a top 5 all time game on any platform for me), Battletanx (has a sequel but I prefer the first one), Perfect Dark, Beetle Adventure Racing!, F-Zero X, Paper Mario (actually not in my collection, but I played it on Wii U Virtual Console), Rampage World Tour, and then some honorable mentions as these were more games my brother played would be Yoshi's Story, Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie.

Mischief Maker was such a bonkers game that i only got to rent at first and assumed i missed something by not having the instructions, still one of my favorites on the system. Quest 64 holds up. Worms Armageddon was best on PC/Dreamcast. The PS1 game was bad enough but the N64 version is a blurry mess with inaccurate controls. Skip it.
