the Big Boo's fight in the C7 doesn't want to start, idk why... the 1.2 has a lot of new visual bugs (in the title screen too)

Dunno, I tried to start the fight and it was ok (faster than in earlier versions, which should be intentional). Crash after entering the boo cave should also be fixed in 1.2. And sure, somehow the title screen was screwed up and that's weird. But gameplay-wise it should be better overall.

Nintendo needs to hire Kaze! This is the best SM64 Rom Hack ever! The later levels may be janky, especially Gamble Game Gallery. That’s my least favorite course! Thankfully, one of the later courses, Colossal Circuits, is my favorite!

When I first tried to play this I got stuck on that horrible water level and never got to experience the rest of the coolness this hack has to offer, it really was ahead of its time! Here's to hoping that Return To Yoshi's Island is the best hack ever made (it probably will be)

I would say that Kaze has learned a lot over the years. His level designing skills has improved significantly along with with his modding skills. With the SM64 decomp, now he is able to change just about anything as long as it works on emulators or more importantly, real N64 hardware. His water level in Return to Yoshi's Island is really good. Also the visual enhancements especially recently have been very impressive. It now looks like a real game that could of existed. The water, the colored shading everywhere including the player model, the smooth animation, etc. It makes me wonder how it all can run so well on real N64 even after the optimization. I have really high hopes for Return to Yoshi's Island.

It's actually an original composition. Used in Melty Molten Mountains (course 8, the fire side to be exact), and thus that's its name. Also check out the full soundtrack at Kaze's main channel (has a playlist).

From my understanding the community sees this mod as your finest work so far, do you agree with that sentiment?

It's the project I've put the most work in, but from a game design perspective/graphical artist perspective I don't think it meassures up to my newer projects. 64Land has 75% less work in it but was more skillfully made, so it ends up being equally as good, if not slightly better. My even newer project is going to completely blow LI away.

@@KazeClips I find it interesting that 3d land is a hack with custom hub world's with custom code, custom power ups all over the place and custom mechanics and something like 50 levels, and you consider last impact as having more work put into it. I geuss it just shows how much better you've gotten at efficiently making hacks

It's a great game. Too bad it's one of the few Mario 64 hacks that don't work on the Raspberry pi 4 Retropie system. It starts up but most textures look black. It would be great if someone figured out how to make it work.

Cmon, I swear this playthrough doesn't look that bad even with the keyboard :P Both keyboard and controller can do pretty good, it only depends on what you're used to.
