कालेज के दिनों में जब रेडियो का शौक चढा तो विविध भारती और बी बी सी हिंदी सेवा को सुनना शुरू किया . विविध भारती के कार्य कर्म छायागीत मे जब कबॅन मिर्जा की आवाज सुनी तो लगा ये एक अलग ही आवाज है. बस फिर तो यूं लगने लगा , मिर्जा और छायागीत शायद एक दूसरे के लिए ही बनें हैं . विविध भारती पर उस समय एक से बढ कर एक नायाब उदघोषक थे पर कबॅन मिर्जा सब से अलग थे और रजिया सुल्तान के गीतोंने तो उन को अमर बना दिया. शुक्रिया मिर्जा साहब .आप अवश्य ही जन्नत मे अपनी आवाज का जादू बिखेर रहें हो गे.
