dont listen to what people are telling you, the game has evolved a lot already, there is in fact not a westerner or asian playstyle anymore, all teams are playing all kind of strategies. people saying that western people tend to play more aggressive simply didnt see the majority of the games this TI2, the chinese lead the killscoreboard as well as the fastest games won. Navi, a westerner team who is supposedly a very aggressive team, played antimage 4 protect 1 every time they could get him.

IG played more teams against even more difficult odds + the fatigue they get from continuous plays. NAVI already has an HUGE advantage with those regards and although NAVI are creative and want to please the crowd the picks they had in the last game were really just pushing it and IG deserved that win

Haven't played much Dota 2 as much, so this may seem silly to ask, but... How did the game end without destroying the Ancient? I wasn't aware of any surrender options in the game?

hes right. Na'vi started playing Dota 2 way before the Chinese did. That did mean that in Dota 1, they where getting rolled over by the Chinese, but in Dota 2, they were the undisputed champions simply because the Chinese teams had very little experience with Dota 2 that early on. Of course, now we can see with more experience that the Chinese are borderline unbeatable.

That is very much true. In fact, all the major Chinese teams have gaming houses, where they live together, train together, have fun together......thats why the Chinese teams seem like such a machine. I truly believe that the key to beating the Chinese lies in the way the European teams train. They train, yes, but just not with as much dedication as the Chinese teams.

Amazing game. Cong to IG. The reason why so many Chinese teams play "slow game" is that Chinese teams have great control of views sight around the map. And it pretty hard for the "gank teams" to gank so much well.

I agree with you, the reason why people like navi(or western team) better than ig(and any other chinese teams) other than being a western team which kinda makes their home court it is because that the play style is aggressive not farming which makes the game less boring for spectators.

after rubbing the lamp, there was a great whoosh. the genie was made of mist and told me he would answer any one question i had. i asked, "will i ever be able to watch game 4 and 5 of the dota2 finals" and the genie answered, "without a spec client, NEVER!!!" and struck me with lightning =(

you first have to qualify for the tournament to ensure a quality performance worthy for the big stage. Mind you, everyone DOES get a chance to go to the Olympics. You just have to qualify...thats how sports is and has been. E-Sports is no exception.

It's the difference in meta. Chinese meta is different than the rest of the worlds meta (i.e., west, EU and Russia). I've always found the Chinese meta a lot more interesting (Might be because I only play west, but who knows). It's also interesting to see how the Chinese tactics work on the rest of the world. Always fun to watch the Chinese meta.

Navi beated DK, LGD and IG before the finals, they deserved the 1 game advantage no matter what you say. There were 3 full games against 3 incredibly good chinese teams and they knocked them all down to loser bracket. Navi essentially won all the games before the grand finals just so they dont get any reward for that accomplishment. If there was no loser bracket Navi would have won.

I think the advantage of the winners bracket was that you'd get a lot of rest prior to the finals since IG i think olny had a few hours or so (game 1 the cast crew said it). and that if you get to the winners bracket, you'd get an automatic 3rd place as the lowest place you can get (said luminous). so i think there's no battle for third if you lose in the losers bracket. and you get auto 3rd if you lose in the winner's bracket. correct me if I'm wrong. but I think that's how it works
