Prince Rama Varma and his usual amazing team of accompanists, Sri S.R.Vinu, Sri B.Harikumar and Dr.S.Karthick, gave a short concert at the Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanam on April 16th, 2013, which was the 200th birth anniversary of Maharaja Swathi Thirunal of Travancore. Despite the short duration, dozens of flies on the stage and numerous extraneous disturbances, Varma ji and his team came out with a totally sterling performance that day. This is the first song from the concert. Saadhu Tada from
Maharaja's Kuchelopakhyanam, tuned in raga Vakulabharanam by Varma ji himself.
Generously studded with tasteful swaraksharams, the charm of this composition, the absolute harmony between the four musicians, the ease and flow of the swarams, the timbre of Varma ji's voice, the beautiful tone of the instruments, all continue to grow on the sensitive listener with each repeated round of listening.
