Melody of anticlerical and socialist "Wir sind des Geyers Schwarzer Haufen" Wir sind des Geyers Schwarzer Haufen from the early 1920 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florian_Geyer adopted by the nazis and kept after WWII by the army of the German Democratic Republic. French lyrics (with 'modern' words like "commandos") date from the Algeria war at most. Absurd's "Wotans Schwarzer Haufen" is a recent neo-pagan adaptation.

Listening more closely to this song and looking at its lyrics it is now obvious to me that you are right in that this is a reinterpretation of "Geyers schwarzer Haufen" rather than an original work with a melody inspired by "SS Maschiert in Feindesland" - age has however nothing to do with the matter. If anything the older a work is the more unlikely it will be that someone knows about it, right? And yes, "SS Maschiert..." were probably using "Geyers..." as inspiration when composed.

Still, the "essence" of the aura of the music and the production "feels" very nsbm or nsfm to me but none of the two Naastrand-bands playing black metal in France is officially into NS. Do you have any idea what the lyrics are about? Is this supposed to be a pagan black metal band then? (to clarify the sound & production on the album)

I think this song walks the line between being horrible or enjoyble from moment to moment. Geyers schwarzer Haufen isn't a great song to rip-off and make a black metal-style rendition of, apparently.

This is not a rip off of that German song, it's a French march song used by the foreign legion
