Flow of Oud - accompanied by the percussion instruments of Daff (Tambourine), Darbuka, and Syrian Drum, lead by Omar Abu-Mokh, this Performance was built around the flow of Oud in the famous musical composition called “Raqsat Sitti”, originally composed by Syrian musician Umar Al-Naqshabandi, played by Nasser Shamma. The choreography was inspired by the late events in Modern Palestine, with the harsh human-right conditions that the Palestinian people have to go through on a daily basis till this day. The performance is an attempt to self-reflect and comprehend an abnormal reality, with extreme dualities of tranquility and stress, of delight and horror... Dualities of short life and long death.
