ষাটের দশকে প্রণব সান্যাল বলে একটি যুবক হুবহু হেমন্ত মুখোপাধ্যায়ের মতো গাইতেন। আমার বন্ধু সুবীরের গান শুনতে হেমন্ত মুখোপাধ্যায় তাঁর গাড়ি থামিয়ে ভাই অমল মুখোপাধ্যায়কে জিজ্ঞেস করেছিলেন_কে গাইছে রে?১৯৫৫ সালে আশুতোষ কলেজের annual function এ গান হচ্ছিল । আমি এবং সুবীর তখন3rd year এর ছাত্র । অপূর্ব কণ্ঠস্বর এবং গায়কী ছিল সুবীরের ।মনে পড়ে বেশ। গলায় একটা ওজন ছিল। সাগ্নিক ভালোই অনুকরণ করেছে হেমন্ত মুখোপাধ্যায়কে। কিন্তু তবুও একটু 'কিন্তু ' থেকে যায় _কেমন যেন একটু হালকা চালের, ছাড়া ছাড়া । আমার বয়স এখন ৮৭+। আমিও অনেক function এ anchoring করেছি, এমন কী হেমন্ত মুখোপাধ্যায়ের function এ। দেবপ্রসাদ মুখোপাধ্যায় মোমিনপুর কলকাতা _২৭
