i love love love this - i have been homeless and managed to work my way into an apartment.. i eventually got a job, clothing, a laptop, internet and furniture and was just reflecting on a time when i had no shelter and was blessed with a bag.. it really does mean so much.. anyway i decided that my next endeavor would be to give back and came across this video.. thank you so much for what you do, and please know some of us pay it forward.. god bless you.. liked & sub'd..

Another idea is walmart sells 60 cent toilet paper making it 15 cent a roll thats a good one too and dollar tree sells 10 packs of toothbrushes making them 10 cents a piece.

Omg you’re the sweetest person. Someone inspired me on Facebook to do this. I searched videos, and this came right up. I agree with everything you said, and I’ll be sure to follow your lead. I also plan to incorporate small crossword puzzle books, and a paper with homeless resources on it as well. Some people don’t know where to turn at all, and one phone call might can change their life. You are amazing sis, seriously. I love this video. Thanks for the inspiration!

Great work. Quick side note...Most of us believe that the homeless should get job, would be so much better if they got a job. What we do not realize is that a lot of them do not want or are incompatible with the 9-5 routine. Let just try to give them a better life, without jugement and not be so insistant that they behave like 99% of the population. Live and let live.

I am truly amazed by all the items you put into your bag! I think it’s awesome and I am doing this with my kids this year (I have 6 kids and I think they should know that not everyone has what they need and it’s a beautiful thing to help and give back)! Bravo! Probably the best list out there and certainly the sweetest girl! I'm going to add a two sided laminated card with human trafficking help lines and such on one side and our local rescue mission info on the other. Was thinking of tiny bibles, but they are probably too small to read.. Can't afford entire Bibles so maybe I'll make up a sheet with the gospel on it.

So I have a friend who has been homeless for several years now, and I do want to add a couple things to this from her that I have learned Dollars And that she has actually called me and said I need this and this is why. 1. you’re right about the socks but also underwear and bras you know clothes are easy to get but not underwear, socks, and bras. Money . 2. a bottle a small bottle of Tylenol and Advil not just a single packet because that’s expensive and it’s hard for them to get she broke her arm and had to call me to get some pain medication. 3. She has bad teeth so I would add in a bottle of Listerine or generic Listerine. They also have Listerine toothpaste, which is amazing. It can literally stop a tooth infection and its tracks. I’ve used it several times.. also include dental floss and some pain relieving gel most every homeless person she said, has you know a toothache. OK big thing I bought her a rolling fabric shopping bag off of Amazon reason I bought this particular bag is she can actually put all of her stuff in there and go into a mall or a Starbucks and not look homeless she said that’s a very big problem, so not not just any kind of metal cart that’s not gonna work you need like a fabric shopping bag that like everybody uses I bought her the same bag that I use every single day And then I filled it with stuff that she needed . Sanitary pads and baby wipes. This is something that’s very expensive and hard to get and it’s one item that she has actually called me and said, do you know please send me money for pads I need pads.. also, a bar of soap is is good, but the problem is is that if they have to go into anywhere to wash up, it’s gonna be hard to transport. I would give them liquid soap or some body wash or at the very least shampoo shampoo can always be used and I would also add some lotion. Just think of how many times you need lotion lotion is always something that needs In the dollar store, they have these little lights that you can hit, and they’ll shine a lot of homeless people have tents and stuff like that. A small flashlight is gonna be kind of hard for them to read or use. These little lights can stand up the round and they can use them. She lives with her boyfriend and her abandoned house so it’s very useful.. The other thing I would give is a little tiny camping stove you can buy these little tiny ones that use tablets. I’m not sure if you can use wood with them but if you’re going for something you want to hand out that might be a great idea somebody can use it to heat up some water or some soup. You know if you can afford it a little tiny fold up pot, I’ve been thinking about trying to get her some kind of small camping stove kind of thing . My friend has some mental issues and it does not feel safe at shelters so she does not go to shelters and therefore she does not have access to a lot of free food so not every homeless person is going to go to shelter a lot of homeless people do not like shelters so she does have trouble finding food. She was very upset. Her boyfriend does do drugs and he decided to smoke the money that he got instead of feeding them so you know, depending on the situation food is a big.. A lot of homeless people have pets it’s always good to have a pet bag. If you’re handing out bags to the homeless in these bags, I would get a small bag of food you can get like these little 3-5pound bags of food. A toy I also would include like a Nyla bone. I would not give her a rawhide can actually cause problems in their digestive system, and it can block their intestines. It’s not good for dogs. I also would include some dog biscuits and cookies. I also would include a blanket, and if you can afford it, a small rollup, dog bed, they sell them for camping another thing to include his flea and tick medication. You can include a leash and collar and extra leash can be used as a tiedown a lot of people do flea and tick colors however, my vet told me that they’re not great because of the amount of stuff they use , also make sure if you can to check the dogs ears for ear mites and make sure to educate people about you know maybe doing some air cleaner if you see the dog or something like that .

Why do you not like pork? I didn’t know many Christian my pork? The vitamins are great idea. Just something I would say is not. Everybody can take iron. I can’t take iron in like a vitamin form and I have my friend cannot either who is homeless so you know just something to think about But yeah great great idea. Vitamin C is also a wonderful you know addition.

For what it's worth, I make aid bags for homeless folks in my neighborhood. I can only afford a couple every month, but I do it. I don't like calling them "blessings". God didn't do this, *I* did this. We should call them "obligation bags" or "ethical bags". The system is abusive, and if the system got what the system wanted, we'd all be homeless, and there'd be regular cullings of the old and infirm. They'd just mow the yard like they do in Ramallah or Sheikh Jarrah. That's the end game of capitalism: violence as management. I refuse to let my intrepid homeless folks die. The system wants them dead, profitable, or both. I want them alive. I refuse to let them all die. The question isn't why I do it, the question is why you don't.
