Welcome Back! This is Matt and I love turning trash into CASH. It is Nacho Stuff but that doesnt mean someones trash can't equal cash. You see, many people have abandoned all kinds of random treasures and toss them into the trash. We take these lost valuables and figure out a way to make a buck from them. Sometimes it through resell, other times we might just scrap it. Either way, we are turning free stuff into cash. I prefer the curbside scene but occasionally find myself in a dumpster or two. Join me as I try to turn nothing into something.
I mostly consider myself a scrapper or repurposer of things that people have decided to discard. Some call it picking while others consider it a true treasure hunt. But at the end of the day, like most scrappers, I am trying to reduce our waste while lining my pockets a little in the process. Each piece of scrap metal, item of curbside treasure or piece of dumpster loot means one less piece going into our landfills and that makes me happy. Matt would it be more profitable for you to strip your wire with a machine as the profit margin now is a lot due to the price of copper on the up take care keep the videos coming

While that might seem true - everything with copper in it also has had a hike in pricing so unstripped wire is also up. Unless it is chunkier wire and I have a nice amount - I will not be stripping wire anytime soon. But to each their own.

It all weighs to the same scale. All 4 of those center bins are on the same scale. That is why I always ask if he is ready for the next type. We moved it over as we were chatting before I left.

Have you ever picked something off of the curb that you thought was to be recycled and it was not meant to be recycled - like a bicycle left on a curb by a child? Did the owner approach you about it and did you have to replace it?

Stainless grills do you check the grades you cook on some are stainless plus the metal above the flame is stainless

I try to but they are mostly steel. SS is normally only on a SS grill

Hey Naruto I tear every one of those vacuum cleaners down due to the fact I get a lot of number two copper out of them also my wife telling Mrs Carolina scrapper it only took 30 minutes for me to tear them down out of 10 I had only two had aluminum Motors North Carolina scrapper😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

Hi from New Zealand Matt, KZbin is glitching, and I am missing so much, it's pissing me off. It only happens on KZbin. Ask a question, would it be viable for you to scrap without KZbin. I personally think it would, good man. We in New Zealand have to scrap metal only, no bits and pieces 😮

Honestly, KZbin is a nice "raise" to what I do but does not pay that much. You most certainly could make a living doing just scrap but you would need to build those relationships and probably get some commercial accounts too. Most of the regulars at the yard are full-time scrappers with a side hustle or two to boot.

So 38 cents for 2 lbs took you about a minute. So 60 minutes in an hour divided by 2 lbs. Is 30. So 30 x 38 cents would equal 7.60 an hour.

No - it would be 2 pounds a minute for 60 minutes or 120 pounds. That at .26 cents a pound would be $31.20. But that is assuming you can find enough vacuums to keep you busy. I just need to find 120 vacuums a day to make that kind of money LOL

Of course. But that also takes time and energy - so you have to make the call. I only strip beefy wire.
