Nacogdoches High has a tremendous military marching history. They recovered nicely!

I don't understand how this performance got straight 1s. There should have at been at least a 2 due to all of the errors in the drill.

Nick Alderman Nope. Musically, Nacogdoches sounded fine.

rocketfan86 On our score sheets the judges said that if we hadn't sounded so good they might have punished the errors much harder, but we recovered nicely and continued with our drill. Same with Longview, if you saw their drill that same night, they fell apart at one point but recovered and also got straight 1's.

I agree... probably all twos... watch between the 5:15 and 5:40 mark... usually, it's OK if 1 or 2 kids have issues... but 8-10 are too many... plus, to my ear, the playing is right on the I/II line.

Recovering from massive problems is admirable, but having the problems in the first place warrants at least a 2 if not lower. I'm shocked that these judges gave that performance a 1. The fact that a judge is praising you for "continuing your drill" is all anyone needs to hear. With that said it's obvious this is a talented group and it sounds great. It was obviously just a bad day, but it was a very bad day.

We did so much better this year (2015)

Wow, this got a 1? I can telll that this is a very talented group, but that one part of the drill where probably 10-12 people were way off and actually ran to get to their spots was pretty unforgivable in a "precision" military band. Those were some unusually charitable judges.
