In general you need to run more lift, if the foil cavitate when you put more lift in just sand all the scratches out, not heaps more in the stronger breeze but in the lighter stuff it’ll get you flying earlier, then you can flatten it out with body weight, that being said, when in the breeze you guys were moving along very well, keep it up!

Thanks for the encouraging words! Yes we agree with your comment - that was our exact top debrief note: More rake, crew more forward if needed, fly higher - but we need our foils mended/refinished; they have some dings and flaking off at the trailing edge that are well past "it'll buff out". Our alibi (!) is that this was a quick outing on the Z foils set after 2+ months of not foiling - we had a pause in our sailing followed by couple weeks training on C foils. As crew, I set the rake a tad timidly. Helm didn't have his trapeze harness, was wearing a way oversize adult (he's 12 and skinny). Long story short - not our top form, but a good fun run.

Thanks for the video. I'm sailing with Roger in Vancouver. I believe you guys are in touch. What rake setting where you using in this video? We've been running with 2-3.5, depending on the wind, but are looking at experimenting with more. We done lots of skim foiling and a few runs with some good height. Just working up gradually and developing our skills as we go. Most of our foiling wind has been 10-18 knots.

Fantastic. On this video we were a bit shy - I didn't look at the gauges but by feel I'd say 2.5 to 3. Should have gone to max.
