I wonder how many of us started with either an NAD, Rotel, or Cambridge Audio amp? Maybe some recall Adcom as well. Certainly seems like components from one of those companies were owned by everyone in this hobby at some point.

exactly why I thought it would be worth while segment

I started out with Rotel. I owned their RA810 amp and RCD865 CD player. Going from a stack system to that was a revelation.

@@oliverbeard7912I bet it was.Rotel has done well and another great value brand right there with NAD

@@oliverbeard7912 Me too! Started with a Rotel RV-555 which was an unusual vertical 20W solid state receiver from the late 70's. Then in college, my second amp was a 60's all-tube Martel FAX-200 receiver with 6BM8 output tubes. Martel was the US distributor for Roland Japan which eventually was renamed Rotel.

Love your channel - very interesting and informative videos. One suggestion: get yourself a DJI lapel mic that plugs into your phone. Will improve the audio of your videos immensely. You'll be amazed. After all, this is supposed be about audio, right?

Had the 7155 and nearly forty years later it's still working at a friend's. If they came out with a pre/streamer/headphone amp/dac based on the M10 chassis I would be all in.

I started with a NAD amp 😊 still have it, I've moved to active speakers and studio monitors but the NAD was the start of it all.

That's awesome!Funny I have a pair of actives here now.Love them and have always been a fan

I went with the NAD C298 and a node instead of the C399, 'cause the C298's got Purifi tech.

yup great value amp its funny because the m23 is so much more money but I dont think alot better than 298 other than aesthetic. To be honest I felt the 399 ncore was more musical to my ears.I have ncore in the bel canto e1x integrated its there designer class d module of choice and there a completely different tier when it comes to cost.It doesnt matter the module so much as its what the designer/engineer does with it analog output stage etc.But NAD is overall great stuff

My daily driver is still a NAD C325BEE, with Wiim Ultra into a Fiio K11 R2R DAC for streaming. Combined with a pair of Klipsch Synergy F2's it sounds sweet (although the Klipsch F2's can be a bit fatiguing at higher volume, the NAD drives them with ease). Also gets used as a preamp for my Crown XLS 2502 power amp and SVS Prime Pinnacle's when I feel the need for more loud.

Hey Shrink I saw your good deeds you should have left the YT video up, it shows you have a heart ❤️. It's not about self absorbed. It motivates people to look at themselves about doing something too . Bless you Shrink
