Davis Cup by BNP Paribas is the largest annual international team competition in world sport. This prestigious event, which is one of the cornerstones of the tennis calendar, gives players the chance to represent their country in an otherwise individual sport.
Founded by Dwight Davis in 1900, Davis Cup began as a challenge match between USA and British Isles, which was held at the Longwood Cricket Club in Boston.
Davis himself played in the inaugural Davis Cup tie, steering his country to the first of many title victories. USA has won the Davis Cup 32 times - more than any other nation.

@@RicardoReyes-wn9im Not only that but I think Spain really believes in Ferrer. For example, Verdasco was top 8 in 2009 and should have start day 1 playing singles in 2009 Davis Cup. Ferrer, at that time, had a really bad year due to confidence issues and other stuff but the captain believed in him so much that he called him to start the first day and Verdasco play doubles.

On a hardcourt Spain have different set of players. Nadal, Bautista Agut, Carreno Busta, Verdasco and all. Actually it is strange that Germany took it to 5th set. No one believed that German Doubles team would win. Its good that Zverev won over Federer. When I see todays Zverev, Im not sure about his win. Thanks to the presence of Becker on their side. I could see the fighting spirit of him in the players performance.
