It is interesting to see how his game has evolved since this match. His backhand improved tremendously, more velocity on the forehand, transition game to the net is tremendous, and his overall tennis IQ and tactics are much better. Sure, this 2005 version of Rafa definitely had better movement and court coverage, but he has definitely made up for that loss by bolstering other parts of his game. The guy is unreal, and it has been an absolute pleasure watching him all these years.
@aguestarli82823 жыл бұрын
I come here to see that. Forehand and backhand are evolved a lot. Serve is another thing !! The whole game has evolved, this rafa wouldn have no chance with a lot of players right now. Just running to the ball and passing to the other court like however sometimes, cant work right now. But the thing is i come to see how much speed he has lost with age, and cant see much difference. But it s difficult to compare because now he hasnt to run like crazy cause his game is different. The stamina was crazy back then.

My father stopped to follow tennis since the end of the 2005 season(he was following tennis from 1984-2005). About month ago he asked me did he miss something from tennis, I told him he missed to watch the best tennis that ever happened... Later I told him that Nadal won his 13th Roland Garros title last year and he was shocked(as he remember Nadal only have that one 2005 title). He knew Nadal was great player but he was speechless...

Your father lives in a cave or what? Almost 20 years and never heard or see any tv sport shows or just randomly on the internet related to Nadal? Non sense

@@Mr.Alien3008 My father is just working and relaxing after the work, hanging out with my mother or with his friends who are also living "in the cave"😂, playing chess, fishing... sometimes he is traveling but he avoids politics, news, internet, movies... and sports he was watching football and tennis for years but nowadays no, he never read any book or watch single movie in his life. I love my father he is good person even though I'm opposite I like TV, youtube, books, watching sport. ❤️😊

I think your father missed an era that we consider great now but will be discredited in the future.

It's incredible how almost twenty years later Nadal, even injured, is such a better tennis player than he was at 19. He is still as fine a fellow as ever (28:58), nevertheless.

Sadly after Puerta tested positive for whichever substance, he lost most of his momentum as a tennis player on the tour. He tried clawing back, just could not get going. He was very talented, and had a promising path. Very sad

Puerta was doping, but he got outdone by an even better doper who continues to dope to this day.
