I did a rather brutal closet clean out this weekend. After months of gradual cleaning, I have finally gotten rid of everything that does not fit, so now I’m down to items that fit but I don’t love or aren’t reaching for. I just shipped 3 boxes to Thred Up, another to TheRealReal, and have another awaiting donation. My resolution is to make a list of the items I need to complete my wardrobe, and shop specifically for those, rather than random pieces. I need a great pair of dressy black trousers, a cool loafer, and a navy handbag for example. I am pairing down my handbags, with a goal of having mid-priced or preloved luxury bags only, with a selection of colors of styles to suit all my needs. Fewer but better!

I'm at home most days and so I dress -- somewhat -- up to go down to my condo lobby. I check my hair, slick on some warm red lipstick. This afternoon I threw on some kitten-heeled suede boots and a faux fur cropped jacket over my workout leggings and top just to head down to the concierge for even more clothes I bought online. (Boxing Day sales. I'm incurable.) Life is short. Treat it like a party when you can.

I don't really make resolutions but I do set goals & an intention for the new year (usually I already started it prior to New Years) I've been decluttering my closet since last year. Selling on FB Marketplace, Poshmark, etc. If they do not sell, they get donated. Mostly clothes that are not my current size or shoes I never wore because they aren't comfortable (& I did not return for whatever reason) We just sold our house/ moved & the rental we are in does not have a walk in closet. So I'm glad I had already started the closet downsize. I now must do the winter/summer swap (Idaho) where I didn't before. Lots of changes. I'm sure my wardrobe will have to adjust to the new climate.

Yes....I do the same thing....for things I need to donate, I put in a bag and put it in my car trunk, so when I am passing by a donation place, I can stop in and get rid of it. Why clutter the closet. Very bitter cold in Chicago area....all about bundling up.

John Lewis Sadie boots and Dune Tayla boots are extremely comfortable if you have wide/problem feet but still want to look fabulous in suede footwear, I would recommend sizing up

I’m not a resolution person. I have decided to take daily pics, (yes Nada finally). I have created no buy months for each quarter. Currently, I’m in a no buy month. I need to focus on shopping my closet instead of buying more. I have cataloged all of my clothing on an app and am using it pretty successfully. My sizes go from a 4 to an 8. I have a small closet, so every piece needs to earn its stay there!

Nada, I am not sure this is the best way to reach you. I won’t be able to make Closet Confidence today and maybe all week. My husband had a bad fall and I have to get him to the clinic for X-rays and the hospital for an MRI. I was looking forward to the Zoom meeting.
