A superb duet. I do agree with those that prefer a more gentle less confrontational? style. For myself a hopeless Sumi Jo devotee, I feel her duet with the wonderful Ah-Kyung Lee - cannot be bettered, truly they harmonize more sweetly than angels themselves.

I love Diana. With her up there with Nadia, you can easily see the difference between someone who likes what they do and someone who really loves it. You can also see what people love most about Diana amplified, her acting ability. Don't get me wrong, Nadia's mezzo is one of the most beautiful in the world, but she lacks passion in her countenance.

No; they're acting. The characters they are acting are different.

This duet is monumental effort and shady low effort opinion from people heaving nothing with opera is pitty

This is one of my favorite duets in opera. So beautiful, so sensual, so smooth and flowing. I think both women here have gorgeous voices, but I just didn't feel it from this version. This duet always has the power to transcend for me; it's magical. I'm getting the magic from Damrau here, but not from Krasteva. Damrau looks absolutely overjoyed to be there, to be in the moment. Krasteva seems as though she'd rather be getting a root canal than singing with Damrau. It's rather off-putting, and totally ruins the mood. Her voice is like deep, rich dark chocolate, which is incredible. But I feel it's a bit too much so for this piece, singing about the birds flitting about overhead, and the blossoms and such. Just too heavy, and it doesn't blend well with Damrau in this performance at all. Well, in my opinion, at least.

@Mycutenames I think Diana as the most wonderful soprano!! I love her, I meant that was one of the best mezzos with this voice so powerful.

Yes I think Kresteva doing the mezzo for this duet is not a good choice...but just the same this was divine for me...peace to all Kresteva fans...

They both are awesome singers, the mezzo is exhuberant and powerful, however, even when that is so, i prefer a more subtle style for this duet...

@succubusdiva okay, I've been listened to this version for the nth time now and I can say that the parts from 01:06 to 02:40 and from 03:24 to the end were absolutely brilliant. so I wanna retract my previous tatement and say that their voices didn't really blend well together in some parts. :)

Diana's voice was too light and perfect but, nadia's voice was too heavy, powerfull and dark like a dramatic Mezzosoprano almost like a Contralto. It was good but, It would have been better if they had a coloratura , lyric Mezzosoprano or a Mezzosoprano Who has a bit lighter tesseturra than this Mezzosoprano coz because of too much vocal power Its like SHE'S overshadowing the soprano part but, anyways It was good

Didn’t care for Nadia’s voice on this song. It’s a bit too heavy and sometimes overshadows Diana’s. Diana’s was so controlled, agile, and light. The mezzo seems to be out of place
