This is brilliant you two! I’ve been living with my husband for 32 years. I could write a book on this subject. I’m of the opinion that if one person cooks, the other *has* to wash up. If I have to wash up and cook every night I’d be building up resentment! My mum and dad worked but my mum did most of the chores. When my dad got made redundant, he *had* to do the chores, and at first he didn’t have a clue, but he quickly learnt. I think it’s an excuse to say ‘I don’t know how to do a chore’ and it’s an easy option ;) you can look up how to clean a toilet on KZbin.

Interesting we got married and moved into our first home. Both working we both agreed if it needs done and your there do it and more so when our children came along thank goodness we both had the shared mentally of the children come first so what ever for a smooth running house we do different things he is the better cook and I am better in the garden but we give each other a break and always offer help I didn't give my children chores and it has not stopped them helping now they are adults. Mark made a good point about people I think saying what they do. You are both also a good team. I do feel sorry if you don't have mutual respect in the relationship.

Do you think if we left a guys mess he would eventually clean it?
