The American soprano, Nadine Sierra, who is praised for her vocal beauty and seamless technique, performed the famous aria “Ardon gl’incensi … Spargi d’amaro pianto” from Lucia di Lammermoor by Geatano Donizetti at a live streamed concert in December 2020 with the Orchestra and Choir of Teatro San Carlo under the baton of Giacomo Sagripanti.

Older recordings of Sills, Caballé, Sutherland, Callas are much better - this is a lovely recording, but nowhere near the magic and uniqueness of the aforementioned singers - if you're looking for a singer today who comes closer to the older recordings, go listen to Lisette Oropesa. She has the sparkle and the subtly that Sierra lacks.

Bellissima! I truly love this thoughtful and moving performance. I just saw Sierra at the Met this week in it's awful and trashy new production of Lucia. I had to close my eyes at time, but Sierra was just fantastic. Her mad scene held the audience spellbound. Love her.

Very nice Soprano for these times. The Toti Del Monte version still sets the bar. Hope she preserves her voice nice tones and moments like the Golden Age Sopranos very nice the Orchestra isn’t obviously as good as the old timers but compatible with her. She can only get better. Wonder where she sings besides the Met.The parents can be proud she made it to that German recording Company. Such a nice voice trying to sing with meaning of the character. Trying her best.
