@@Control4Daze I think it's the most important rule in mtg and it applies to every format. I used to think it only applied to commander, because it's a social format and it has more players and you're more likely to lose than win, but I really do think it applies to magic in general. You can't rely on your opponent not to be running whatever dumb nonsense is legal at the time, and you can't rely on your opponent not to fill their deck full of options against those decks either. All you can do is run the cards you want and think are going to give you the best chance of winning, and if you don't do that then you're not going to have any fun.

I love people complaining about the format, but then I sit down with my pile of ass and Thoughtsieze/Inquisition on T1 Not only am I a bad player, playing bad cards, and a bad deck; but it's not fair to say the combo cards are fine because they all do bad against interaction. nice vid, i get it and love it! but also i unironically like and agree, lands are a big issue, how about we ban the fetch lands? with them even 5 color mana bases are not a risk until post board, and even after that there is like what 2 cards to look out for and only ran in like a handful at most decks/boards so from what i have seen from playing in modern for the years now is like "why not run 3,4 or 6 colors", their is no down side with fetch lands.

In all seriousness though - simic and bant are the worst. It's so rare these days that wotc errs on the side of red or black, that everyone is more sensitive to cards in those colors because it happens so rarely. Was rakdos scam annoying? Yes. Would I rather have that than *any* of the busted mess in simic or u/g/x? Also yes. At least rakdos makes you go out of your way to play protection/counter spells. In simic and u/g/x you're already in the two best colors for those effects. Your opponent tries to target you or your stuff? Oh no, guess I'll give myself/my stuff hexproof since I'm already in green. My opponent tried to destroy everything? Oh no, guess I'll just stop that since I'm already in blue. Oh, and while I'm at it, I'll remove all their stuff too, since blue can do that as well. Simic is a blight, and I wish wotc would stop making egregious design errors only in this one direction. Or preferably not at all. In closing - I love blue, and I love green... but I hate simic. It too greatly reduces the challenge of what a game of magic should be.

This video is awful and is only intended to gaslight us on the truth of the matter. The real reason for no bans is obvious, Storm Crow, a much stronger and superior card, is a 1/2 and easier to cast at 1UC; Nadu however, is a 3/4, a 200% increase in stats and one more mana at 1UG (an extra color, making it that much harder to cast than Storm Crow!). If the feather don't fit, you must acquit. Case. Closed.

Singles is a bad format hence why the official competitive format is doubles. On top of singles being the most mismanaged format since the usage tiering only gets worse the more is added. It's also not properly split so power creep drives more and more tiers to be made which only dilutes the metagame and doesn't do what it wants to accomplish

While I got the sarcasm, I still don't see Nadu as a problem from a power level perspective, even with the poor templating. At its core, it's a minimum three-card combo deck that requires Nadu, a zero-cost targeting effect, and at least one other creature in play. Also, the pros treated PT Amsterdam as an MH3 block constructed format, which made Nadu and Necro appear more dominant in terms of power than they actually are, and the few players that registered Ruby Storm submitted a suboptimal list. In addition, there were only a handful of the pre-MH3 Modern powerhouse decks in the tournament, and one of them went 10-0 in constructed while another lost its win-and-in to the Top 8. The likelihood of Nadu dominating an open Modern field is still in question. That being said, Nadu should still be banned. As I noted above, the templating seems almost purposely wrong, and the resulting game play is atrocious. An effect that triggers twice per turn per creature and puts lands directly into play untapped? It's easily on par with some of the worst designs we've ever seen for AI-generated cards. The fact that Wizards still hasn't banned it makes me wonder whether they did this on purpose just for the free publicity created by people complaining about Nadu. If they ban Shuko first, then we'll know they're just milking the controversy. Basically, stop mentioning Nadu, and WoTC will probably be forced to quietly ban it.
