It's not a moving magnet cartridge; it is a moving iron cartridge. "Moving Permalloy" = MP

I wonder What it would it be like if you failed 2 round channels half a millimetre deep either side of the Screw mountings, theoretically should help dispersing unwanted resonance built up in a closed box section you could try a little bit of soft open cell foam there as well quite thick say 2 mm so it's under compression but doesn't encroach on the side walls to dampen and resonance from the arm

what do u think of nagaoka mp-500 on the Technics 1200 GR? u think it will compliment each other or is the Nagaoka mp 500 too high end for the turntable that the Technics 1200 GR can’t give justice to its full potential?

I can't say whether the two complement. because I never tried it. but in principle with perfect settings, the Nagaoka cartridge will provide the appropriate sound for it. You need to try , it is a good a MM cartridge. I really like MM cartridge for Nagaoka
