Oh my goodness! I have been looking for footage of my great- great uncle walter for so long. I can't believe that it was his 75 year old internet illiterate niece who found him. I couldn't believe it so I had to have a look for myself. I can't wait to share the link with the rest of the family. I found another clip under Red and Struggs. Just phenomenal.

Love this! My late husband would play the piano and I sang. So fun. Vets from the Korean war and WW2 laughed along with us (2 crazy kids in love)

I never heard of these guys. I love this! They did a great job with the song. This song will be forever marred because of the horrific destruction of the city in WWII, but the song, and most likely this performance, predated the war. It sounds like a fantasy song of exotic places. I doubt if the the lyricist had ever been there. As far as I know, Japanese men don't chew tobacco any more than men in other places. Fun song, all the same.

This is one of a series of similar "exotic" songs of the time about far-away locales -- part of the humor of the songs was the obvious fact that the singer really didn't know much at all about these exotic places.

I think this performance deserves nothing but reverence. (Both men are African-American.) The song was written prior to the bomb, by the way.
