इस लोकगीत में यह बताया गया है कि ग्रामीण आंचल का भोजन कैसा होता है और कैसे बनाया जाता है। महिलाएं सर्दी के मौसम में चना और मटर का साग खेत से ले आती हैं फिर उसे हींग डालकर तड़का लगाती हैं। चने का साग और महरी गांव में खूब खाया जाता है।
This folk song sings of the simplicity and rustling up of a rural meal. During winters, women pluck the tender fronds of chana and matar from the field and cook them into a delectable saag after tempering the greens with hing. This saag is relished widely across the villages.
