They make bells that hang from a door knob that you can train your puppy to ring when they need to go potty. It took my puppy about a week to learn and it prevented most accidents once he learned and I still use them 2yrs later. May be worth a look. Thanks for the videos!

great watch as always. i recognize it is a trend in horror games that there is either no funding to implement animations or no team expertise to do so. often we see mannequin positions being exchanged on spot or monsters only appear in a few frames. as a game dev myself i dont judge, since it is a couple of very specific jobs that include so much effort to get it right. doing the model, rigging it, animating it, then importing it and then implementing the whole animation logic and then triggering it correctly, be it with simple code or some AI. it is a literal nightmare of its own. but it makes the standard low budget horror game currently a bit less enjoyable. it is the same with horror movies, where monster appearances are easily the hardest parts to pull off in the production and many low budget movies need to rely on not showing the SFX.

yet every horror game 10-15 years ago managed this perfectly with no problem, just think devs have gotten lazier over time because as you said, getting it all right and all to work is hard work, so guessing they dont work as hard anymore, shame really

​@@topbloke1683 however the amount of work needed to blend animations into a game also increased with ever increasing graphics quality. doing animations for a current "somehow photorealistic" game needs much more attention to detail in all the above mentioned production steps. and with that the available workforce gets reduced so much, that you will either never have the funds to hire such unicorns or it will be unrealistic to cover this skillset on your own. i also don't think devs got lazier. they are just no more that educated like back in the days. 10-15 years ago the independent game scene was a lot smaller and many people came from a background of traditional 3d animation. this is no more the case. today common people have easy and unlimited access to professional game dev tools and just get overwhelmed with all the possibilities. it easily becomes a deep dive into several rabbit holes whilst forgetting about the main goal which is: creating captivating experiences on all levels. i just wished more students of all the game schools would jump the animation waggon instead of the "concept art" and "environment art" stuff. sure it is much easier because less technical but we have so many of them now and no animators anymore.

Just gotta say that what I love about Hollow's facecam is that it's very toned down. Like, he's mentioned a couple of times how difficult it is to see what's happening on the screen because of the bright light in front of him, but it doesn't show at all in the uploaded video. So he obviously desaturated the colors and darkened it in post to fit with the ambiance of the game. Such a neat detail.
