Of the too many to count awesome things about this TAS, one of them is also how certain things are calculated. Throughout the run, you may have noticed that it's not always the first kill of a new monster that will be the kill that drops a soul, because that drop could be used later. Whenever Soma collects a soul, the screen pauses and forces a prompt on the player to confirm the new soul acquired. This pause can also happen without a prompt when Soma levels up. This run is played so that certain soul collecting coincides exactly with Soma's levels up in to minimise forced pauses as much as possible. So for those of you that enjoy TASs in general (and those of you just dismissing it as cheating and seriously not getting it), just remember that not only does this TAS minimise the number frames spent to move from one spot to another through inhuman skill, not only does it have RNG manipulation, but there's also a skill exclusive for TASs to cut time used alongside RNG manipulation. I just feel like that's an underappreciated aspect of this run. You have certain games like Mario which TASs abuse the hell out of pixel-specific glitches, but RNG-specific ones? I don't think I've ever seen that in any run.

Soma is a reincarnation of Dracula so Dracula is not the fb. I’ll explain. The first phase of the chaos vortex is the souls gone out of control and it’s quite easy but then there goes the 2nd phase. I hate it. The black hole takes little to no damage from ur attacks and the bone dragon almost kills u in 1 hit which ads insult to injury because dying in the fight gives a bad ending where soma turns into Dracula?... oh yeah he’s trying to destroy the evil within him. So here I am, 10 years after this video was posted, just now playing Aria of Sorrow for the first time, and starting to get into speed running. A month ago I didn’t know what TAS was. Although I can’t fully appreciate all of the things in this (like RNG manipulation) I can appreciate the hard work that went into this. This was a pleasure to watch and makes me want to keep digging deeper.

lmfao at getting peeping eye so easily with the TAS. I spent almost an HOUR obtaining that soul in normal play. It is one of the rarest and lowest drop rate souls in the game.

I wouldn't say "easy with TAS" same if the author know the whole game have a lot of time to complete,months or years to finish you has must careful possible to don't lost 1 frame.

+ReddmanDGZ Peeping Eye doesn't have that low a Drop Rate, I usually get it within 5 or so kills casually, and have managed first kill soul drops quite a few times
