“Shooting the video for ‘Homebody’ was really personal for me,” Palm tells Complex Music. “I wanted to celebrate where I come from. My stage name Nai Palm was originally my fire performance name predating any music endeavors. The Hume Weir where we filmed is close to Mount Beauty where I grew up. It was once a valley that was lived in and was eventually evacuated to become a dam. The old eucalyptus trees are still standing in the water and in my early teens I was haunted by their presence. This is my first attempt at executing visual concepts, editing, etc.”

1 month ago, my wife and I got a baby boy. We spend the his first week at my mother in law's place. There was a lot of tension there. Things was not going as we planed so my wife and I decided to return home sooner. Back home I listen to this with my newborn on my chest and started crying of happiness. damn this feel good.

Her music is really magical, its always a good day listening to musicians that really let their soul flow into their music, you should listen to the album When it Falls by Zero 7, its amazing, and if you want to experience the opposite side of the emotional spectrum listen to the album måsstaden under vatten by Vildhjarta, its all pain and anger and sorrow and despair and uncertainty but same concept, they are letting their soul play for them. Another good album is Existential Reckoning by Puscifer, this one is different than the others i recommended, it might take a few listens to truly appreciate, but its a work of art.

This alsi reminded me of a runway where she's like those people signaling planes for arrival. In a figurative sense, she is signaling people to arrive from where they've been. To, in this sense, come "home". But maybe the the idea is more that she herself is signaling home for herself. I dunno. Guessing. In the later half, you see her from the fire she wields. With the lyrics involving time showing you the way, i wonder if she had to cultivate those skills or if she herself had to make those...firebrands? Point is, its beautiful and its my favorite pastime seeing the meaning in what could be possibly meaningless. Of course, beautiful voice and music.
