That's so insulting to nail techs, it's not just the end look that's important so you can't really tell (unless someone is just really bad). Its more about the prep & product knowledge/ correct application. I've seen so many DIY nails that looked ok at the end but were applied so incorrectly that they wouldn't last. Your only way to judge a pro vs a DIY is to do the check after 2-3 wks to see who's nails are still actually on.

But you also pay for the girl or guy who does your nails, you pay for the ambiance, the massage, the drink they offer you etc. It’s not JUST the polish. If you went to beauty school and work in beauty then you would probably want to be paid properly for what you do and not just the materials you use.

I live in Santiago and the whole video I was feeling sooo lucky watching the whole video. My WEDDING manicure with gel, metallic powder, rhinestones was only like $18 (12 lucas). I’m a licensed nail tech in MD, and out here we charge A LOT, but those nails deff were expensive for the quality given... I admire the nail techs for being sweet and not judgmental, but I know they’re screaming on the inside. I guess as long as the client is happy then that’s all that matters.

I personally never do acrylic nails. I let my natural nails grow naturally and let them trim. A lot of people are surprised when I say they're natural nails and not acrylic cause sometimes I'll leave them so long. Even nail techs are shocked 🤣.

Is it me or did anyone else notice that the manicurist and the lady who got the gel nails done had the Sacked same shade of red on their nails or is it just me

Full set of acrylics at my salon is $50-60 a fill is $35 ish but with design it could be up to $50 and gel is about $30 depending on the design or if you use multiple colors.

The nail salons here, (eastern ky) are soo different from place to place. The place I use to go to it was $65 for coffin shaped gel acrylics. $125 for manicure and pedicure. But my sister went an hour from that place and it was all half that price. $35 for acrylic gel nails and $60 for mani pedi. 🤨

Where i live (Mexico), the BEST gel manicures cost around $11 dollars, at MOST. It includes a beautiful nail preparation and a little hand masage with lotion for free. Crazy to think they are paying $60 dollars for gel.
