I can attest that a professional efile is so much better than the home ones. My first came from a high end gel nail polish company that sells to consumers without a license and it did well but as I progressed with doing my own nails I felt it was a bit too slow. Plus it didn't have a display to tell you how fast it was going so that bothered me too. And I was right. With the right bits and efile (MelodySusie), removing product and doing dry manicure is so much faster and safer. Thank you for the extra tips!

A lot of nail techs always state to work at a low speed….. But, if you research and learn how the efile works. You come to realise that a slow speed is not always good, the higher speeds cause less friction therefore less heat and a more comfortable and efficient removal.

I'm guilty of too much pressure 😢 When I got a professional e-file, it was much easier. I'm still working on technique. I purchased swatch tips to practice on. Hopefully, I'll learn how to stop damaging my nail beds.

I practiced using my e-file for two years never going over 8. One day I told myself to turn it up to 15 man that cut my removal and shaping down over half the time. I only use low speeds now when prepping the natural nail. Thanks for confirming lol at 2 yrs though

Oh I remember my very first class (also fist time I've used something different than traditional polishes). It lasted 2 days and each of them I drilled something there, and due to lack of experience I left with a terribly overfiled plate. Now after almost 2 years of practice I'm doing better thanks to videos like this ❤️

I just recently bought a set of nice bits, after having the set that came with my drill and holy cow it makes SUCH a difference! I’ve always been super careful but I definitely feel like I’m allowed to be more fluid with my movements, with my non dominant hand as well, with the drill! Especially around my cuticles. Thank you for sharing! Love your content! Always super helpful hun❤

Funny story though, about 5 years ago I bought a carbide bit in China (while I lived there) and I am still using it. I know, they should be replaced often, and yes I replaced all other ones many times over the years because they got blunt and didn't work well, but this one is as sharp and as good at product removal as on the first day. I don't know why, and I don't know how but it still works like magic.😅

This is a wonderful video. Thank you. Learning the proper pressure has been the biggest struggle for me. Speed of rotation, and bit quality were the things that had the most impact on the amount of pressure I ended up using. I took your advice and replaced my bits with better quality, and got over my fear of higher RPM’s, and my Efile control immediately improved. ❤ I still have to remind myself to be aware so I barely touch the nail, especially when prepping the nail, but your tips have made it so I’m no longer afraid to do cuticle prep with my efile. I still find myself “digging in” occasionally when removing product, but I’ve improved to the point I no longer fear doing prep on others with my efile. Thank you so much for all the critical information you take time to share.🥰

I recently had my Melodie Susie drill stop working. It lasted a little less than a year!! I bought a Daisy DND drill on sale and it’s amazing. So much better than the previous model. The DND drill says it’s a true RPM speed. With the Melodie Susie it seemed easier to accidentally burn my nails. I am trying to work at the higher rpm’s like you say to prevent burns. I’m a hobbyist not professional.

I really enjoy your videos. Can you please tell us what brand of drill bits you use? I'm especially interested in the cone shaped one you use for removal (it has a black band) in many of your videos. Thank you!

This was such an informative video! But my problem is for someone who's just starting to be a nail technician what nail drill brands/ efiles would you recommend? Would you do ever a dry/russian manicure tutorial with recommend brands?

@@Nailcou omgggg your a LIFE changer honestly I didn't exept taht you will answer! Thanks a lot for the recommendations you deserve more attantion for how much you teach for manicures and making the patient feel secure and feeling like they are getting their money's worth and unlike most nail tech KZbin channels you aren't a generic nail art channel which is really appreciated!

I have those cheap drill bits. It's all I can afford now. Some of them work pretty good IMO. They just don't last very long.

Same haha I still use mine, fortunately they didn't come all bumpy and uneven so, why fix what ain't broke? Although I did buy some professional ceramic bits foe easier removal

Thank you for this video, my mistake has been slow speed because of fear, much better now that I use more speed. I do use the mandrel bit ( medium arber band) to remove product, seems to work for me, what's your opinion on that?
@Nailcou
@Nailcou Жыл бұрын
In my opinion it's not very comfortable sometimes to use it close to the cuticle area, but if you're dealing with nails that are outgrown far from the cuticles already, it's fine
