Best performance by a pissed person ever. Incidentally, Jarv wrote this song so pissed he couldn't remember doing it the next day. He applied the same method to recording it. The man's a genius. And a massively fit one at that.

Such powerful and imaginative lyrics. This Is Hardcore was a true evolution in Pulp's song writing and sound delivery. Amazing track. As per usual.

I remember this performance when it was first broadcast. It stood out has one of the best performances I've seen on "Later with Jools". Absolute epic performance of an incredible song. Thanks for sharing

Bands and artists seem to always bring their A game to Jools' stage. One of the most incredible live performances I've ever seen, just Mammoth. Jarvis puts other rock frontmen to shame.

Pulp wrote the Bond theme for Tomorrow Never Dies but it didn't get chosen (the studio went with Sheryl Crow) and it ended up on This is Hardcore as a bonus track) as Tomorrow Never Lies.

There can only be one criticism of this song: the arrangement, in that it only includes the climactic chorus once. At 03:49 the songs explodes, and I want a repeat. Regardless, this is Pulp's masterpiece - dark as hell, and genuinely scary.
