Thank you for visiting my country Lesotho. I've been following your adventure from your country. Refreshing and informative videos. I also enjoy your perspective of places you pass through. I'm not here to rant about some of the easily fixable conditions of our infrastructure yet being neglected. I want to reserve my frustrated comments on that. @4:12 Thaba-Nchu/Thaba-Nts'o translates to "Monte-Negro" in Slavic language. Better view @4:48. @12:28 taxi rates = M12.00 commuter taxi and M13:00 for a 4-seater. We usually refer to 4 seaters as four plus one, or in short, four-one. @17:43 Parliament Road leads to the old parliament building. A new parliament has since been built, better view @10:52 - @11:00 at the near middle of your frame, straight ahead, right on top of the mountain. @17:52 Traffic and Transport Ministry have come up with a new version with a longer code. If your old version has not expired yet, next time when you renew you get the newer version. @18:12 hence my not wanting to rant and complain in your video. On the other hand, this must be the 4th straight year experiencing torrential summer rains. They've played a role in damaging our roads. But this is not an excuse to the "#beep-beep#" leadership we have in this country. @23:00 Sesotho dialects stretch from here in Lesotho, South Africa (provinces of Free State, Gauteng, Limpopo, North-West, Northern Cape), Botswana, parts of Zimbabwe, parts of Zambia (Lozi tribe), eastern/north-eastern parts of Namibia. I hear the dialect kind of fades away in some small parts of the DRC. @24:20 we call a range of mountains "Maloti". When you're fluent you just say "Loti", which we've named the currency after. Actually "Loti" is grammatically singular, "Maloti" is plural. @27:13 Selemo (spring)...August - October. Rains may start early or may delay. Hlabula (summer)...November - January. Very hot. Rainy season. Hoetla (Autumn)...February - April Mariha (winter)...Late May - July. However, the chilly weather stretches to late Sep. Average during the day 10/12 degrees celsius. Night, minus 10/minus 15 @29:10 Machache, to the left with a higher pick. During winter the snow covers the top like kilimanjaro. From what i've read, kilimanjaro translates to "Thaba-Ts'oeu" in Sesotho. We have Thaba-Ts'oeu (white mountain) in Lesotho but the reason for the naming is different to kilimanjaro. The reason being that Thaba-Ts'oeu comprises of cream-white sand-stone facade. @35:08 Molimo-nthuse translates to "God help me" in English

Factually not true. The African highlands are in East Africa - mostly Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Uganda. Highest peaks in Africa are Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Kenya. You also have Ruwenzori mountain in Uganda not to forget Mt Elgon in Kenya. Nairobi, just like Jo'burg are on a higher elevation than Maseru. Maybe there are more mountain ranges in SA but I don't think anything beats the great Rift Valley and its associated lakes. But road infrastructure in SA is world class.

Beautiful, lush and scenic views. Eye candy trip. Eswatini isn't enclosed by South Africa, it has borders with Mozambique and South Africa. Only Lesotho is surrounded by South Africa. People in Lesotho don't need permits to work in South Africa. Eswatini too has a 1:1 exchange rate with South African Rand like Lesotho.

In 🇿🇦 we generally buy locally made cars. Toyotas, VW, mercedes, bmw.
@josephshonga178

That's because South Africa is protecting it's motor manufacturing industry. The neighbouring countries allow Japanese imports; well because all cars are imports in those places; even the South African ones.
@lebo5281
@lebo5281 8 ай бұрын
@tonytony2549 I used to find it odd that the companies that sell these imported used cars to neighbouring countries are in South Africa and Maydon's wharf is packed with them but the clientele is non-South African.
@josephshonga178
@josephshonga178 8 ай бұрын
@@lebo5281 That's because Durban, where those cars land is biggest port and easy point of entry for goods to those countries, that are mostly landlocked. So some companies have set up in Durban for ease of business directed at those countries.

My sister's and brothers I watched this Lesotho episode twas great watching it... Remember Lesotho currency is maluti and South African currency is rand... Rand is bigger than maluti... I missed to tell you when you're in Johannesburg tht may you go to the hub of South Africa by the name Sandton City right in Johannesburg to see the tallest building in Africa by the name Leonardo... Again in Sandton to see the biggest mall in Africa by the name Mall of Africa😊... Hopefully next time Fam... You can even Google them to see what I'm referring... Your family member in South Africa... Much luv❤❤❤

its so easy for you guys to navigate in South African countries, but its not easy for us to travel to many African countries in central, east, west and North Africa because your police in those countries are very cruel and dont value tourists and they dont know that a country prospers when many tourists visit in numbers. I have visited few and dont think I will ever visit them again. I want to try Arab countries now and see if they are like other African countries.
