Comprehensive and educational. The best wing reviewer on YT- and I have watched them all.

Having watched the s26 video on the naish website it looks like the y straps can also be added to the main strut to create more handles. Quite clever thinking.

Now thats an even better idea. I wish Naish told us that before!

For those who want real raw power and crazy acceleration, I recommend the Wasp 6 or 7. The leading hedge is huge,making it the most powerful wing on the market. With 25-30 knots, you can even use your wing with a twin-tip, or a surf board,personally I think it's even more intense than foiling. Cheers to Reuben for his quality videos.

About the leash, I do have the S25, (4.3 and 6 m², both nice wings) I replaced the leash with a coil leash.. I find a coil leash much bette to handle on my (low) knowledge level. And when you let go the wing and a gust goes for the wing, it is much smoother and does not jerk the leash so hard.

Thanks for sharing Christoph. Its well worth an upgrade.

You can put one of those removable handles into the centre creating a long bridging handle.

Great info. As a beginner, I was going to wait for the latest, i.e. S26, but I think I'll go with the S25 unless something else comes along. I do like the fact that the S26 packs into a smaller unit ,though

Thanks for the detailed review. I still find it hard to decide on my first wing. I'm a bigger rider at 6'3", 93kg and will mostly be on a gusty, lighter (10-15knots) wind lake. I have a foil that should have lots of lift. I'm tempted to get the 6.8 S26 to max out the power and maybe i have to accept that the gusts might be harder to deal with. I'm most worried about being underpowered. But is there a downside as a new rider of dealing with the size of a 6.8? dipping the wing? Any bigger, newer riders out there with advice?
@SUPSUNRU3 жыл бұрын
Man some wings have more power then others even with same area. in my mind 6.8 will be too combersome to handle-will catch tips often so Id go for wings known for power -5.8 or so /coz proper technic is more important then gear. once you went through your first sessions and started flying you won t need 6.8)

Yes this is a tricky one. Bigger wings will be harder to used and drag in the water more. TBH I haven't used enough big wings to say what is best but I do agree with SUPsun that when you get your tech dialled you will be up and flying with a small wing in the same wind.. which is hard to imagine. It funny I think I can get up in the same wind wether Im on a 4 or a 5m wing(im 75kg) . But I think the S26 6m could be a good power wing for you. Thanks Reuben

Thanks for the nice video. Which seize would you recommend for a 93 kg beginner, who would like to start using the wing with my sunova speed 9,5 and than later maybe change to a foil board? Thought about a 6m. Does that make sense for you? Many thanks 🙏
@SUPboardermag3 жыл бұрын
Yes a 6m would be a good size for you. I wouldn't go any bigger, because the longer wingtips will tend to catch on the water when you're using it especially when not on the foil. The smaller 5.3m would work well but it will obviously need more when to get you going. Thanks Reuben

Hi Reuben, great video. I've just got my s26 Carbon wing board 125l and the s26 jet 2000. New to foiling and winging, so wondering what wing would suit a 85-90kg 5'11 bloke on the UK North East Coast. Would the 5.3m be adequate?
@SUPboardermag3 жыл бұрын
Hey Savio, Sounds like you have got yourself and nice setup. A 5.3 I think would be a good place to start. You could go bigger and it will give you more power and up in less wind but its a bigger wing to use and move around. Its all a compromise between physical size and power. A smaller wing is always easier to start off with. You will need to go out in more wind to start to get up on the foil but in time and with good tech you should be flying in 17knts+ without a problem with your foil size. Any help? Thanks Reuben

@@SUPboardermag Thanks Reuben, I ended up buying a 6m Naish, and took it out today to try and get the basics right. I caught the wing tips often and it was difficult to manoeuvre, but I guess it is all about practice. Thanks for taking the time to reply, much appreciated.

I am looking at the s26 my weight is 95kg. I have not been on surf board or windsurfer but have hours of experience on kite buggying. Also I think my balance would be good as I regular ride challenging mountain unicycling. I am thinking I could start off on land as I have a mountain board would this be a good way to start. What Size?
@SUPboardermag3 жыл бұрын
Hi Stephen. Yes starting off on land can work really well...Beach is ideal. Size wise its a hard one. I would say that on the water you will want a 6m at your weight. But problem is on land it will feel a bit bigger and you may catch the wing tips a bit on the ground. But its probably still the wing size to go for...Make sense? Thanks Reuben

Which is the best leash you have used I got tangled up in the one that came with my S25 plenty of times and decided I didn’t like like it off the bat
@SUPboardermag3 жыл бұрын
Its nothing complicated, something simple like on the F-one, ensis. I have used a windsurf uphaul in the pass too, getting the length right is the important bit.

@@SUPboardermag Try a waist belt or a snow harness to attach the leash instead of the wrist.

Sounds good. We will give it a go. That would work well with the S25 leash too.

bungy type leash found in PPCwings will not tangle much(if tangle at all) and will not smack you in the face as hard as surf leash(does not matter coiled or not)
