Welcome to one of Tokyo’s BEST places to buy Anime, Manga, Disney, Video Game and other Otaku merchandise! This is Nagano Broadway, which is famous for the first Mandarake store selling Manga and merchandise which quickly spread out so much that it attracted other otaku stores turning the Nakano Broadway shopping mall into a geek paradise! We’re doing an updated version of the 2017 vlog today, going to our favourite stores (Mandarake, Robot + Robot, Omocha no Pony) and a few new ones in search for some cute Disney things, some game cards, a video game or two and loads of Kingdom Hearts merch! Thanks so much for watching!

Nice video. For your viewers, most of the anime/manga stores don't open till noon. Also go to the basement before you leave, there is a Seiyu supermarket, fish markets, a Daiso, veggie stores, food stalls and drug stores for picking up groceries or snacks or just to see where the locals shop.

This series just makes me want to book flights to Tokyo right away. Super informative and fun as ever. Did you buy the hanafuda set in the end? It’s such a fun alternative to rummy or hearts once a few people learn the rules. I also love that Stephen is an Utena fan.

Thanks so much Nia! I'm so sad that I didn't get the Hanafuda set - I watched the footage and was like "what was I thinking not buying it!". I'll have to get it next time!!! And oh yeah Stephen loves Utena, we went to Japan for the exhibit one year!

I have to say my favourite floor is probably the 4th floor! It has Mandarake Plastic which specialises in more magical girl goods, 70s, 80s, 90s toys (Polly Pockets, My Little Pony, Keypers etc), plus there are a few lovely vintage and handmade stores up there too :) and my favourite entrance to a Mandarake, at Mandarake Henya! Plus the 4th floor has a cute little old school arcade too :) I would also recommend checking out the basement floor and surrounding streets if you want to get a feel for local life. Nakano is definitely one of my favourite places to visit, could probably spend all day there ^^;
@thisNatasha

Oh yes we hardly ever go to the 4th floor! Last time we went it didn’t seem worth it - but I think after reading your comment I should check it out again!!! I’ll be back in jan so I’ll go check it out then! Thanks!!!

Love your videos they are so informative. Is there a way of finding locations of that fun Magic Castle arcade game as the original website is now not working. I’m only going into actual Tokyo for one day as I’m mainly at Disney and really wanted to have a go.
@thisNatasha

Thanks so much! I'm afraid the game has now finished - someone told me a few weeks ago it had closed. Apparently you can still buy cards and keys in the second hand card stores in Akiba and Nakano. But if you're interested in other card games I'd recommend going to Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara - there's some great games there!!!
