Perhaps flags + kites do remind Nala of big predatory birds. Maybe before you found her abandoned out in the middle of nowhere, large birds might have dove at her. But now she knows she is safe in her basket or on Daddy's arm. How cool meeting the old street artist in this beautiful tiwn. And a serenade by accordion of "Somewhere My Love" just for Nala! And later a piano player, so nice! A canal ride in a gorgeous wooden boat throughout a beautiful city, with a little cat as First Mate, lol! SUCH a good behaved lady on the boat, enjoying some stunning sights with Dad. The world through Nala's eyes is a wonderous place. Funny enough l like to buy magnets as souvenirs too. Small, easy to pack & you can remember your trip everytime you look at your fridge, ha!ha! Be safe out there Dean, you are loved...you and a little ginger princess!! Thank you for the tour. I went to Riga in -93, so not long after their independence. It was so poor and run down, even if they had restored the front of the houses in the old town. I was thinking through the video that you should go up in the tower and then you did. When I was up there, the poverty truly became obvious, as the houses backsides were in ruins and I could now see that things have improved greatly.

It became in ruins when it got ‘independence’. Within Russia it was very beautiful, prosperous city. Now it is restored only in the centre, the rest of the city is shabby chic. All the plants, factories…closed. People went abroad for search of the work. Only NATO bases built around it and helicopters flying over your head. No tourists, no people around. Military polygon.

Dean, I love watching you and Nala explore the world. I noticed in multiple videos that Nala apparently only eats dry food. I learned (too late for my precious cat) that it's very important for cats to eat wet food to avoid (or at least delay) chronic kidney disease. Water is not enough. What a pleasant stroll and beautiful boat ride in Riga. We missed the boat trip; must have only spent 1 night and only did the old town. Notice how big that old town pedestrian zone is. It's true all over Europe: old towns are often pedestrians only. Especially in Italy. France is a bit behind in doing it, unfortunately! Thank you for this vlog Nala and Dean. Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia are so worth the visit. Thanks for bringing back good memories from a trip by car we made perhaps 10 years ago. Merci. P.S. ordered 4 calendars for 2025.
