I’ve been wanting one of these but wasn’t sure if I had enough clearance between the top tube to get the bottle in and out but I have more than this so I might try it. I love the Lezyne power cages because they’re stiff and secure but they don’t allow for much leeway when putting the bottles in so it can be hard to get them in if you don’t have ample clearance. I think the more traditional bottle cage shapes like this make it easier.

Did the bottle cage scratch your hydroflask?

No, the powder coat on the hydro flask is pretty tough and I use the Voile straps to keep it extra secure so it doesn’t rattle around. If I didn’t use the strap, it probably would mar it a little over time I imagine.

Curious. Is that green hydroflask the 32 oz or the 40 oz?

I can fit a big SmartWater bottle in mine under the downtube and hold it with the Voile. That gives youyo 1.5L and they are basically free. Won't survive if anything hits it but you aren't out anything.

+Paul Tourkin That's a great tip Paul! I have used those SmartWater bottles before, they are pretty high quality and last quite a while for a "disposable" bottle. The Sawyer Mini filter fits on those bottles as well if I remember correctly. I have a video comparing that filter to the Aqua Mira water treatment drops as well.

Thanks for sharing. I think your channel will really take off if you buy yourself an osmo mini camera gimbal, and use a script to narrate the audio.

Thanks. Good advice and I definitely need to script out my videos more often. Osmo mini will be outdated quickly, so that is a tough one for me to swallow. Check out my 29x3.0 Maxxis DHR2 review to see a video where I scripted out my narration. I liked the end result much more than off the cuff narration, but feel that it is a little less “real” than haphazardly speaking to all of you about the topic I am sharing.

@@RideAlongsideAgreed. it's all about telling the story. from your perspective but from our perspective it's about listening and watching the story being told. I use the osmo mobile on my main Channel (oh8stn); this is my private account. I use this account to watch awesome videos like yours. 👍

Thanks for the support and encouragement. I definitely want to get better at telling the story. Scripting it out just needs to be part of my process.

😆Nothing quite as relieving as dropping a deuce out in nature when you really need to go! Don’t forget to bury it a foot deep and 200+ feet away from any water source! Thanks for the entertaining comment! -Nick 😃👍
