For those of you who think this video is boring and cheesy, I challenge you to understand National Geographic is not just about pretty pictures but they're about documentation and preservation as well as inspiring us to participate in revering OUR planet. The only thing I find funny (& remarkable) in this video is the fact that she has to go to such extraordinary lengths for any of us to realize the importance of protecting trees; our air filters, our lumber, our food, our shade, our paper etc.

I like the goals this lady is trying to get at, but I'm an art student & too many times have I met artists who are so wrapped up in fancy conceptual terms and art methods (those branch paintings, yeesh bad result) that they don't realize they're getting farther from really accomplishing inspiring art or communication. But she gets points for trying and starting good organizations to reach people. Awesome stress-relieving tree projections! Tree murals or wallpaper could be a cheaper option.

I believe an accurate study of movement would be this, The movement of the leaves or needles in this case X the movement of the twigs X the movement of branches X the movement of the trunk of said tree X the height of this tree, minus the friction caused by the brush and the Human factor ( movement of the Human while holding the artist paper) . However , I digress! I love NatGeo ! rock on !

It says they taped the paper on there, no human holding

I wonder if she allowed for the resistance of said branch moving on the artist paper, as it would create friction slowing that particular branch down while others were moving feely with no resistance in her equation for movement ? Plus, one would have to figure in the movement of the Human holding the platform on which the tree was, Painting , As, it is impossible for humans to remain perfectly still. I believe the tree would travel even farther with these equations put into place if they r not!

Yeah if you only saw the tree painting part I could see how you could draw that conclusion. But next time just skip forward a bit. Overall I don't think it was stupid.

She's going 'from the unknown to the known? When she climbs a tree? Isn't that the opposite?
