Right now Reese is playing better than CC. CC doesn’t play defense and she has been inconsistent with scoring. She has had a game with 3 points and another game with 10 points back to back. Angel is on an 8 game double double stretch which is already a rookie record. Angel also has a very high defensive efficiency rating while Caitlin doesn’t really play defense.
@page8301
@page8301 4 ай бұрын
Angel Reese has terrible efficiency and if she cannot get under the rim she is worthless on offence. Half her rebounds come from her own misses, if she had a normal efficiency she would struggle to get double digit rebounds. CC had the usual guard rookie struggles being inconsistent and turnovers but also has to content with an awful coach and a team that struggles to keep up with her basketball IQ, passes and most of the team cannot set a screen to save their lives, especially Boston is awful at screening.

Smith is a not a SF, she’s clearly a PF in this offense based on what I’ve seen. Quite frankly I agree with one of Sides decision earlier in the season to move her to 2nd unit because A. The starting unit needs more D, rebounding, and transition offense. B. The second unit needs more scoring which Smith can provide Temi should definitely start at PF/C. The two other changes Id make lineup wise is to give Berger the backup PG role and either flip Wallace and Hull’s minutes or just start Hull and have Celeste Taylor as backup SF/SG

And I like both players but Im looking at the rookie who can handle the players they are playing in their position. If it came down to it guard on guard Caitlin will get torch by some of the vets, her own team mate Mitchell is an all round guard plays better than her but no one acknowledges it because of Caitlin coming in on the team. Caitlin is doing well for a rookie and it's undeniable that she is a great shooter and passer.

A double double is a lot easier for a big than a guard! Even in the NBA, 10 assists might be top 2 in the league some years, 10 boards is what prime Reggie Evans gave you That being said, Angel is elite! The double double argument is just dumb
@koolhandduke4087
@koolhandduke4087 4 ай бұрын
@@MickTalksHoops --Mentioning the dlb dlb is not dumb. It is easily a stat that players are measured by. Even celebrated if triple dbls. Who besides you says a dbl dbl is EASIER for a big than for a guard. Averaging dbl digit rebs require as much skill and certainly more tenacity than passing the ball to an open player to hit a contested or uncontested shot. There are easy/hard rebs just as there are easy/hard asst. They each require a certain skill set. AR most likely will never avg dbl asst, likewise CC will most likely never avg dbl rebs. So your opinion is just as subjective as mine. I'm talking averaging dbl dbl, you seem to be talking collecting them in a single game. Different metrics my guy.

In the NBA exactly 1 person averaged a double double with assists. 12 people did it with rebounds. 36% of all starting Centers averaged a double double with rebounds. In the WNBA there are multiple players doing it with rebounds this season and people have ever year. Nobody has ever averaged 10 assists per game in the history of the WNBA At least back up your claims with facts instead of nonsense
@koolhandduke4087
@koolhandduke4087 4 ай бұрын
@@MickTalksHoops --I find that unreasonable people compare WNBA players to NBA players only when it helps to push their narrative. Usually that narrative is how terrible the WNBA is by comparison. That's not the narrative you're pushing but it still doesn't mean you're right. Whether you like it or not averaging dbls is still a measure of a players worth, any given season. If you don't like it petition sports writers for adhering to such a standard. I'm not invested enough to fact check your stats right now. But I will say this, becuz disagree about what makes one player better than another vs more exciting to watch. Long range 3s and slick passes are sexy, rebs are not. But rebs have two components, def and off. You can't score without the ball. Rebs gives you that possession, off rebs gives you that possession at your own basket. It wins games (even championship) asst are important but less signif than rebs. Diff standard about what makes one player better than another. Since you like bringing NBA players in to advance your point. Dennis Rodman couldn't shoot or asst with any high degree, but is credited with major contribution to 5 chips. His def of course but more signif his rebounding the ball. An example of the gritty, hard hat work needed to win.
