I mentioned this on another posting, but my dad, Lee Vines, was the announcer for these shows. He and Robert Q. were very good pals -- and my dad was also the announcer on The Robert Q. Lewis Show (1954-1956). Until now, I've never seen "The Name's the Same," and I don't believe I've ever seen The Robert Q. Lewis Show. But maybe it'll eventually pop up here on KZbin! My dad didn't talk too about "the old days" much, but he certainly enjoyed a fairly long, very successful career (he was also the voice of "Hallmark Hall of Fame" and "Password" and many other shows; he even did a bit of on-camera work). I do have a bound script from one of the Robert Q. shows, but that's pretty much it as far as memorabilia. And oh, in case you were wondering, my dad was a classy guy, a fantastic golfer, and a wonderful dad. Again, thanks for posting these shows! 🥰

Gene Rayburn is SOOOO young... and SOOOO adorable! And I love Joan's asking Carl Reiner, "Do you know anybody with two noses?"!

This young Gene Rayburn fellow seems so talented, that I predict one day he will be the host of a very popular game show.

I didn't know who Huey Long was. Interesting who is still remembered all these years later.

2nd round very good but the panel were misled by Robert Q saying Ruby Lips were a THING and not THINGS. Despite that I have no doubt the lady enjoyed the experience just as much as the audience! Peter Lawford - possible the most handsome man around at that time, or was that Dean Martin?

Remember long ago when women would scream and drool over Peter Lawford? Since this was shot in July of '53, I wasn't born just yet (yeah, I'm an old cat -- sue me), so I can't say I remember this at all.

7 yrs before I was born. I haven't seen Robert Q Lewis in anything except guest panellist often on What's My Line which I watch on here often. So good to see him.

Mr. Lawford was a British hunk.

Funny how assumptions made for hillarity. And Joan was hitting on Peter Lawford!

A man by the name of Carl Weiss, who could no longer stand the man, felt he was way too out there. Weiss was killed by Long's bodyguards immediately after he shot Lomg.

Is it the make-up or do Gene Rayburn's lips look weird?
@lynettepalecek31419 ай бұрын
I think it's the lighting and the makeup in this video.
