I really enjoyed your video as I too have a NA 2006 Subaru Legacy Wagon. One key component you're missing is unequal length headers. Unequal length headers on a non turbo Subaru engine will give you that iconic rumble. There are a few options on eBay and allegedly will fit with NA Imprezas and our Legacys.

I appreciate the support!! Do you have the headers? I’m interested… curious on the sound

I don't 🙁. I've dug through forums but haven't found a concrete answer. If I end up buying/ installing it, I'll let you know.

This is actually the answer, I’ve been clicking around and can’t find anything explicitly for this year/model that’s cost effective. I’m wondering if that’s cause of COVID or it’s just getting too old

Its a learning experience where you discover things rarely just easily go together. I think you realized that even if you were successful in removing those bolts, it's a short lived victory as the flange on both sides are toast. Thanks for the video.

This is what an exhaust video impression should be like. I just wish this was an Outback XT instead. Awesome video..
@Pradaboi892 жыл бұрын
Idk if it has been commented but if you want the subie rumble then you need to get unequal length headers. The headers + the exhaust you have and you will fall in love with it.

One of those "easy one-hour jobs" that ends up taking three days, two new sets of tools, and still taking it to a mechanic. I think we've all been there. On a side note, a buddy of mine had the GT (turbo) version of that wagon and it was awesome.

Got mine 2 weeks ago for my 2011 na forester. Loving it so far! Not too obnoxious but just gives it a bark like it says. I have a video of mine give a rev to 6,000rpm and sounds great. Don’t regret it at all. Great review on your mufflers and hope you are still enjoying yours! Subbed!
@guypiaquadio3 жыл бұрын
ahh yes, yours sounds great - honestly I need to replace the rest of the exhaust system, it's so rusted from the weather in the northeast the seals just arent tight enough
@alfarebel87703 жыл бұрын
@@guypiaquadio Thanks! I had the same problem too with the rust. I decided to get a Ansa oem mid pipe because I had no flanges and I wanted the exact note that I was hearing from others. I did see that nameless also offers the mid pipe for the gt legacy. It could fit on yours as long as it has the same layout of the pipes as the na and you could get the noise you want from the smaller resonator and the larger diameter of the pipes. But if your wanting it to be oem I would try finding an oem designed one. Also seeing as nameless puts down for the mufflers on the na and gt as the same for the mufflers I could see the mid pipe working on the na
@guypiaquadio3 жыл бұрын
What’s funny is that I bought an OEM mid pipe during this mod and as I went to put it on the flange at the cat/resonator connect literally just rusted off so it’s only held in by one bolt and the gasket lol - so I just returned the new one because the flange is on the cat side, so in order for me to do it properly I have to get a cat too and who knows what other problems I’ll run into. I told myself that if it ends up with a hole I’ll swap it out but didn’t feel like putting in another $4-500 at the time
@alfarebel87703 жыл бұрын
@@guypiaquadio ouch.. that sucks. Maybe a stainless steel clamp that is long enough to go between the midpipe and cat could give it more life. Wish you the best on how to work that problem out.

hell yeah, you'll enjoy them - next thing im looking for is the unequal headers, not sure if they make them for the naturally aspirated version, they might have them for the GTs tho

Add UEL headers and it will rumble. Combined with nice muffler such as this it will sound really nice.

I have a nameless axleback exhaust for my 2016 na Legacy, it’s a dual chamber axleback. But I fucking love it, it’s a 2.5 and this special exhaust is so nice, it has that aggression when you rev it of course, but it’s quiet as stock when under 2000 revs. Exactly what I was looking for. I want headers but I can’t find shit for my year. I can’t wait to tune this bitch tho

just gotta go in and have them cut the bolts (not the exhaust) - if you live anywhere where it snows this is completely normal, places where it doesnt sometimes they have a tough time grasping the concept lol
