I can tell you otherwise. Convince you otherwise? Probably not. But don't tell me what I can and cannot tell you. Of course fighters being OP depends on the game and the fighter's build. Fighters are generally meant to take the brunt of damage and give it right back, so they typically have to be walking slabs of flexible muscle guarded by a shit ton of metal. In D&D I prefer barbarians and monks because they don't need armor for good protection. Admittedly my ES skills are lacking, but that's because I haven't taken the time to really get into it. There's so much lore and my head is already filled with a shit tone of lore from D&D, LotR, the Honorverse, etc. I am a sucker for rich lore so I have to really be ready to dedicate time to learning it. And I was ready...then Baldur's Gate 3 dropped in early access.

Fighters don't need spell slots. I've always maintained three things with D&D: 1. Fighter is a good starting class for new players. 2. Fighters are even more important in late game play because of the level of damage enemies can deal in one hit. 3. A well build Fighter is more important than a caster (with the exception being Life Domain Clerics) when assembling a party.
