In national parks it is forbidden. On other places often you can. I didn't always fly legal. (On public places, I think legally you would need a permit from the aviation authority. I checked, but it was too much of a hassle to make it work). Keep flights short. Do not disturb animals and don't destroy other tourist's calm moments. My experience was, if you fly with respect, people won't complain. If they do, stop flying immediately.

@@khusroalam3248 The drone was a rather small model (DJI Mavic), I kept it all in hand luggage. Lithium-ion batteries I packed separately from the drone itself, so it couldn't be activated. Always check airline regulations when in doubt how to transport it?
