First of all is the tax dollars into the state coffer, royalty payable to the state by each mining company in the country, employment both directly and in directly and obviously overall development to the country among others. And remember this is not only the company discovered oil, many others did and still many are exploring.

I am a white Namibian but I am not from the Germans who colonized Namibia, I am a Afrikaner Boer. I was born after Namibia gained independence and I love this country, I know no other home. I fail to see how the oil will enrich white Namibians, I just hope the tax money which the government get from the companies which extract the oil is managed correctly and benefit all Namibians.

Namibia had always demonstrated transparency and good governance. Samuel Nujoma did a great job laying a solid foundation for proper governance. I’m confident they will join Botswana in raising hopes for Africa’s middle class.

Because Namibia doesn't have the money or expertise to get it out of the rocks. Other people's money, equipment and expertise is doing the work. Namibians should/will be trained in the O&G and associated fields thereby developing wealth and expertise.

The Nambina government must purchase or lease all the required equipment to extract the oil and built their own oil refinery. Do not allow any of these big oil companies to come in with their big share, the government and the people must own up to 90 % of the oil revenue not these big oil.

Good news however the question is for howling oil still have values? World is fast moving towards so called clean energy, hence flooding msrkets/ countries with EV vehicles, soon everything anywhere will be turned into E something, which lender oil useless. How much ownership does Namibia own in percentage, coz if it is a fair deal then 3 million people would never have to work again if they choose. Saudi Arabia being the model.
