Muafangejo is considered one of his generation's most important visual artists and Namibia’s most famous artist. He is often thought of as a South African artist. However, he is, in fact, a Namibian. People tend to think of him as South African because he is best known for studying at the Rorke’s Drift Art and Craft Centre in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa.
