I moved from a twenty year old Martin D41 to the retooled 810 about four years ago. Rarely looked back. Still, it’s all about that bass. The Grand Pacific seems to produce better balance for tunes with the unwound strings. My head is turned for the first time. It doesn’t hurt that Andy is such a brilliant artist. It always surprises me when Luthiers are not players. No dig against those artisans but Andy gets cred by designing, experimenting, then playing. I love listening to him.

Almost everything. I'd love to do bluegrass flat pick but I've only worked seriously for about six years and I'm slow. I do a ton of Beatles (doesn't everyone?) Lyle Lovett. CSN and Young. Quite a variety.

My axe has the LR Baggs Lyric which really sounds nice plugged in. I'm seeing and playing the Grand Pacific mid March. We'll see. It's gonna have to be good for me to make a move from my dreadnought

I love the riff at 9:00! It sounds like a well aged guitar handed down for generations.

Beautiful playing! I would love to compare this to my Gibsons.

Want to ask does the guy holding the microphone ever play guitar?
@deborahmcalister39363 жыл бұрын
yeah, Powers, and you should have left taylor alone... youre trying to make a be a good Gibson although your attempt with V Bracing SUCKS!

Well first, I t would have helped if the interviewer had held the mic in the same general area when Andy plays. Pointing the mike at his mouth when he plays the 512 or what ever it is does us no good. Second, I get a kick out everyones comments on sound from a KZbin video made with vocal mic.

Didn’t know an acoustic guitar’s sound came from the player’s mouth. Must be it, otherwise why would you hold the microphone to his face while he’s playing? I must be an idiot to think differently.

Great comment, Gabriel. So out of the 340 back and forths, mic switching between interviewer and interviewee and then the guitar, you point out the subtle mistakes and ignore the new models, quality video, pretty damn good audio, and entire content provided by Andy Powers? Yeah, you don't make yourself look like an ass at all. Be sure and send Premier a private message telling them their free, uncut, HD video from NAMM 2019 wasn't up to PAR with your standards.

You shouldn’t be interviewing ppl, honestly just dry, you come off rude and you look bored I feel bad for Andy for having to go through this interview with you
@Dildobagginses5 жыл бұрын
He said it himself all Taylors sound the same. D18 sounds nothin like a d28 buddy, same for any body style

Pretty sure a guy that actually builds guitars and definitely plays better than you knows what he is talking about haha
