Great guest to have. He’s a huge player, so non-American, wich might be a good thing these days, and has a fine sence of humor and great taste! (That’s actually the same thing.) He laughes a lot (about himself), that’s a Danish/ Northern European/ Scandinavian thing, but take this guy seriously!! (Very ‘socky’ video btw, 🤣.) Just great! 🖖

This is why Pete is the man! He gives such an honest and genuine delivery of who he is, or at least it seems that way to me. The fact that he says the ugly and honest details we can believe him when he praises other things. He's also funny and charming which doesn't hurt but I really appreciate his honesty, like there's nothing wrong with saying you're doing something because it's financially beneficial, and anyone who doesn't talk about that stuff to me seems like they're hiding something. We shouldn't want people to do things just for altruistic reasons, we should respect a healthy 50% margin on a lot of things as fair. When we respect the creators in that way then they don't have to worry about cutting corners and are free to be creative. Honesty is the key to building lasting relationships. Pete and obviously you guys too, have done an excellent job at being honest at times to a fault and I'm sure your audience as a whole is drawn to that about you. Great interview, outstanding all around gents!

Glad to hear Zack and Mythos will take a chance on NAMM next year! My first show as a guest or "attendee" was in 2019... it was a great show with Gibson back out... and then that thing happened in 2020. Not only did NAMM change forever, but the world and most of retail changed, too! I think it's going to be different, but better in many ways... the smaller makers, creators, musicians and home studio guys with channels like mine can share what's at NAMM with the rest of the world. KZbinr's subscribers buy the gear being shown there, gear they don't usually see at stores... so, is it really that big a deal Gibson, Fender and PRS weren't there when you can see their gear at stores anyway? I think it was a great NAMM and l'm looking forward to more next year! The excitement was definitely back and at NAMM this year... and the channel viewers get to see gear they'll probably never see anywhere in stores... like the T-Rex Binson Echo Rec... up close and even some tones, irregardless of the NAMM noise.

Great talk. One thing that I quickly learned during the year I tried doing pedal videos - if you say good thing about something, no matter how objectively bad it is, most people are OK with it. If you say something bad about something, no matter how objectively bad the product is, and you are calling someone's favorite child ugly. I will disagree with Rhett a little, though. I know that some people will only talk about products that they like, but I think it's a much more valuable service to tell people "I don't like this" every once in a while. Besides, I don't think a reviewer's opinion is valuable unless you have both positive and negative opinions from that person to compare.

I think it’s pretty easy to tell when Pete digs something. He’s polite if he doesn’t get on with it, but he’ll say it. I wanted a sunburst Riviera for years and then the video him and Rabea did on the Casino and Riv came out. It was clear they were good, bought one immediately.

Great, genuine people are always appealing. That's life as well as KZbin or sales, etc. Pete is a great, honest guy. Of course he's fun, but he isn't exhaustingly self promoting or slathering on schtick. Zach uses the word, "integrity". That's it. As for pedals, some slots on my own board can be a little like a hot seat; pedals come on and off. Some stay, including the Kingsley Jester, Broadcast, Cali76 and Pet's "The Dane". Both sides sound great across all my guitars and into both of my very different amps. (Mjolnir recently made its own spot.) Integrity just must win in the end.

As a KZbinr myself, I think it's pretty easy to be honest with the audience and say "I was sent this product, I'll do my best not to let that influence me, here's what I think." If you get send a garbage product, you just don't do a video and let the company know why.

I wonder, if I ordered a Dipped in Tone tee-shirt, would they send it to me? I only ask because I ordered a "Let's Start at 12" tee shirt from the Danish Pete store and although they have my money they've never sent the tee shirt. The store's email keeps coming back to me as invalid, I even wrote to Anderton's and although they said they would help me I'm still sitting here without a shirt, and without the money which they converted to pounds and kept. I suppose he used it to help pay for the flight to NAMM so he could make this video.

I stumbled on this because I’m a huge Pete admirer, but the guy on the left in the hotel room is a bit of a clown. Here’s why, you go to NAMM to do business, but you are clearly leveraging yourself on social media doing a podcast to build your pedal business. Consider yourself lucky if fans want to take a picture with you. You’ve then been successful building your personal brand, but to whine about a fan wanting to meet you for 2 seconds just rings hollow, when you’ve spent all this time to be visible. The sword is double edged. Meet the fan, meet the dealer, shut up and sell gear. End of rant. ✌️
